No other gaskets or sensors while you're in there?

Trident_0711

Did both VANOS solenoids and cleaned the electric pcv plug, but as of rn just the cover gasket, plugs and coils

Eccentriccshaft sensor and seal, valvetronic motor seal

Trident_0711

The valvetronic was done by previous owner at 110k, but if I can find the eccentric sensor/seal in my town I'll definitely do it

bisnexu

those old style coils are shit anyway. you should get your parts from fcp euro.

Trident_0711

I would've if I had the time to wait, but unfortunately this thing has to be moving by 4pm today so I really had to get whatever would work

HerLegz

You can always use old worn stuff, move it and order parts to do it again with the right parts. Sucks how much planning ahead is required for these euro rides. Expect 3 weeks, 1 week planning, 2 weeks to order and get tools, and 4 hours to do it. Deferred maintenance costs get even worse.

This was legit me in the same exact scenario on Friday. Waiting in VCG to come in and repair... On the side of the street since I have no garage.
