It allows push-pull operation when it would be too inconvenient or time consuming to turn the train around at the ends of its route. Sometimes a train will have a dedicated coach with a control cab for this purpose, but a lot of routes don't have such specialized equipment.
Ok, but I want to know why all of the cars, trucks, vans get stuck on the train rails?
On a few videos I can see enough space untherneath to keep moving like nothing is holding them.
Maybe to heavy for trucks to go over the little hill or something?
imagine being the guy driving the train.
I know they hit a lot of deer, and I was told by a conductor that almost every driver sees a person hit by their train by their 5th year.
But that?
Inadvertently? No. Road humps like this (especially over a grade crossing) ALWAYS have clear signs that tell truckers they will absolutely 100% bottom the trailer out at the crest of the hump. Trucker driver is an idiot
[The signs look like this](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/LHcAAOSw8axZ~l5~/s-l300.jpg)
[This is where it happened.](https://www.google.com/maps/@33.838846,-97.1310092,3a,60.7y,111.05h,96.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sCmgZvvojimc0U662jCchmA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) Notice that exact sign?
The street view is from the opposite side of the crossing, note the location of the signal cabin. Looking up that road I don't see the back side of the warning sign from the other direction. Streetview does not go past the crossing.
> Looking up that road I don't see the back side of the warning sign from the other direction.
[Right next to the car heading towards that tracks.](https://www.google.com/maps/@33.838846,-97.1310092,3a,15y,96.53h,92.93t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sCmgZvvojimc0U662jCchmA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192)
Now I see it thanks!!..Thats I completely different view than I got, No cars at all and you cant get the right angle to see past the crossing lights. Funny both say Mar. 21. [view i got from street view](https://goo.gl/maps/6tmoHToJGAEQQDxP6)
Great point ... except the google street view is from March 2021 and the accident happened in [Oct 2021](https://abcnews.go.com/US/dramatic-video-shows-amtrak-train-slamming-semi-truck/story?id=80619175). But besides that, excellent point.
If the track forms a hump then truck drivers are required to go around. Signs at each end of the road will warn of the danger. If the sign was absent and the trucker had a dashcam then he might have a case, but he is still in trouble for not looking at the road closely to make sure that his truck can make the passage.
An inexperienced car driver would make this mistake, but a truck driver is trained to avoid it.
That one SUV just floated up lol
I think that suv may be the only one that can possibly drive away
I'd grab it. Hell, I'd grab most of the debris. Car parts are worth a fortune if any of them are any good.
Especially if it's a catalytic converter. Or even part of one.

Worth scrolling through. Thanks
That's going to be one hell of an insurance claim
And the sad thing is that it's coming out of the semi drivers insurance
Well he’s the one that put his truck in the way of a train so I don’t see who else would have to pay?
....why the fuck is that sad? It's not like the train came out of nowhere 🤦🏼♀️
Seen this a dozen times already but love watching it every time it comes up. That car just pops straight up into the air.

I would NOT want to be that loco engineer. That had to be terrifying.
Ummmm oops?
The floating car!!! HAHAHAHA
u/savevideo
Damn that was awesome
Why do train drivers always drive like they own the damn road
Who says we don’t have flying cars?
Hang time
Train wins again. What a shock
I’ve wanted to see this my whole life
"I'm sorry sir your new car delivery has been delayed by another 10 months"
Why does a train that short need two engines?

grade, or sometimes they just needed elsewhere or are not running
Goddamn satisfying

It's high centered on th crossing, belly of trailer stuck on the hump
Press A to Jump, Good Work.

All these damn gtav videos about trying to stop the train are so old hat and... What?? Wait, what?...
Looks like the truck got stuck inadvertently. Maybe too high of a crest? Not an idiot. Nobody in a car /r damnthatsinteresting but off-topic here

And do you see that sign here? Or did the truck perhaps stall? Just off topic
Truck ran the sign over and got stuck on it

Just found an even better view of it. [Backside of warning sign, with gates activated](https://goo.gl/maps/TtdcrYecubgXBosX6)
Lol game,set, match.
Today. Maybe this incident prompted it’s placement of the obviously new sign

Anyone hurt?
Pride
Fuck r/fuckcars
Fuck r/idiotsincars
Eh. At least the cars can be salvaged. The train, however 😬
What’s the actual damage to the train?
Dents and scratches at best
[OP](https://youtu.be/KjsSvjA5TuE)
Happened to me once when I didn't see that pulling guard
Holy CRAP!!
Gone
Wouldn't the train have a score of 8? - 6 cars on trailer+trailer+truck
Its an SuVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
🤣
I love how that white car just hovered in the air before dropping to the ground. It was almost majestic.
My guy recording is absolutely unmoved by the collision he just witnessed. Not a grimace or groan. Cool as you like.
"But I had right of way, the train should have stopped!" *Truck driver to the insurance representative /s
like a hot kife through butter
I'm beginning to think that people do this on purpose in America, it can't possibly happen this many times
Did he died?
was the driver in that truck…. That is my one question not why not how but was the driver in the truck If he was that guy is done
STRIKE
Epic af
Trains always win
that was oddly satisfying, hope the drivers are ok.
I hope the train driver is OK. It's a train yeah but still I don't think that cockpit is designed to hit a semi
allahu akbar
