Finally got to see Shang-Chi today since cinemas just reopened in my state.
I really loved the first 40 minutes to so, but felt it peaked super early, probably with the skyscraper fight scene. After Wenwu brings everyone to his compound it started to slow down a bit, and the third act was really not that exciting to me compared to the amazing action in the beginning.
I don’t know, I wish it could have stayed as great as the start was.
That’s like my exact same opinion! The grounded action really felt compelling and like Shang-Chi was in his element, the second half’s impulse to have the universe be at stake really took the movie down a notch
I find it odd that we still haven’t had an Eternals plot
And yes I know about the one from 200 days ago, I’m just curious what this new cut has.
Can't wait to see it next wednesday. Might do an AMA for those interested/small plot lay-out.
Oh, please do! Send me a link if you decide to do it. Enjoy the movie.
According to the Japan Association of Theatre Owners.Spiderman No Way Home is pushed to 2022 in Japan.I found it on Twitter: [https://twitter.com/macgyjp/status/1453344266571239429](https://twitter.com/macgyjp/status/1453344266571239429)

Edit: I live in Tokyo & usually we get Marvel films at the same time as everyone else, even Spiderman movies. I usually keep all promo flyers Far from home came out on 6-28 here the same as everywhere else.
They would not have just put out Empire yesterday saying that it was releasing on December 17th if they were pushing it back.
Japan usually has to wait a month or two later for western movies. So unless you live over there this ain't a big deal.
I live here in Tokyo & have seen every Marvel movie on opening weekend. We usually don't get Marvel related movies late.
Japan often gets movies a bit later than everyone else
I live here in Tokyo. It's uncommon for the Marvel related movies to come out late.
Here are the Spider-Man stuff from Empire in better quality if you want to read.
Is reddit mobile fucked up for anyone else or it just me?
Is there a possibility of Tobey and Andrew not appearing at all?
I know with all the leaks and stuff it seems highly unlikely at this point, but as there's no official confirmation, you never know.
There is, very small. There is SO much evidence of them appearing it would be difficult to make a list
the empire magazine said this will be like Spiderman: Endgame so If Tobey and Andrew aren't appearing then I don't know how they can make such claims
I mean there is, but it's mostly leaning towards a yes, since the set photo of Andrew was confirmed to either be an insanely good deepfake or real.
Corridor Digital did a video about this and they claim it's not deepfaked.
[Jon Watts just personally DMed a supportive Raimi Meme to the guy who is doing the *Spider-Man: Lotus* fan film.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FC02LY6WUAIj3yC?format=jpg&name=medium) That's amazing.
Wow, mega respect for Watts
I just found a new whole kind of respect for Jon Watts now.
man that’s so damn wholesome; exactly what I needed to see today
All these leaks are bringing me back to the good old days when we didn’t even know the title of Endgame lmao. Was the wait for the first trailer this bad? It’s been almost three years now
??? again https://twitter.com/TASMFELICIA/status/1453865193243619328?t=x-5aexA-SMyGrXh3_IPoCw&s=19
Confirms the leak of the black and gold suit being an inverted version of the normal suit because someone throws paint on it.
IMO people need to calm down about Eternals. The reviews are mixed to positive, and I have no doubt the movie will still make good money, so let's not act like the sky is falling.
If it is a complete dud, it comes down to one thing: when you take chances, sometimes the outcome is positive, sometimes negative, but unless you take a chance you'll never know.
I'm sure the cast and crew put their heart and soul into this, and that's what really matters.
I'm in a weird place with Eternals. Unlike a lot of the Phase 4 announcements, I wasn't so much excited for the movie as much as I was curious about it. Even for comic standards, Eternals is an obscure IP, and Marvel has been known to make big names out of obscure IPs. Hearing what the movie is going to be about, I'm still waiting to watch it for myself before I form my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm someone who appreciates the movie for what it's going for more than I like it. I at least appreciate the risk.
As for the Jack Kirby stuff, I know some people are bummed about the seemingly low amount of Kirby aesthetics with it, but with that Fantastic Four movie coming out, and that IP being one of Kirby's biggest contribution to comics, much more so than Eternals, I'm giving Eternals a pass for that.
Yeah I don't read into them for that simple reason.
Could Rhino not being in NWH have disastrous consequences for Sony and Disney’s new deal? Let me explain:
So as we all know, Rhino was reported to be in NWH for months, to the point where many accepted it as fact, but recently several reliable sources have begun to insist that he isn’t in the movie. Initially I thought that maybe Disney had gotten to the leakers and had forced them to start denying stuff, but this seems implausible since those same leakers are being very open about other things not officially confirmed such as the appearances of Maguire and Garfield. Many have said that the leakers that initially reported that Rhino was in the movie get their information mainly from earlier drafts of the script, and believe that Rhino was initially planned for the movie before something happened to change those plans. Now these drafts can’t be from too early on or these people would get a lot more wrong and thus wouldn’t be seen as so reliable. They would likely be from late into the game when everything is almost completely finalized, barring something unexpected happening. Which leads me to conclude that cutting Rhino was a last-minute decision, which makes the hints at the Sinister Six (like referring to the villains as “sinister foes”) in marketing make more sense. Basically similar to why it was reported that Doctor Strange would appear at the end of WandaVision only for him to not do so.
But here’s the thing - Sony has been pushing for a Sinister Six movie for quite some time now. It also seems like the plans for Holland’s third solo Spider-Man film changed in light of the new deal made in late 2019, as all leaks and rumors prior to that point seemed to point to the movie being a much smaller scale film with Kraven the Hunter as the villain. It doesn’t seem like Disney/Feige/Watts were intending to go the “mind wipe” route either, since they apparently considered having FFH end with Peter willingly revealing his identity to the public like Tony did. So it seems like a lot of why NWH is the kind of movie that it is comes down to the deal, and what Sony requested that Disney do to allow for a soft reboot of sorts.
Given how badly Sony wants to bring the Sinister Six into live-action, along with the fact that NWH will feature a team of villains that have appeared in past Spider-Man films, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the things that Sony requested was that the Sinister Six would be the main antagonists of NWH. As such, they likely would not be happy with Disney for cutting one of the team’s members from the film and reducing the villain count to five. If they end up seeing it as Disney going back on their word and failing to hold up (part of) their end of the deal, could this possibly lead to another split-up between Disney and Sony?
Nah. Sony wants a Sinister Six for sure, but they are trying to build it with different people such as Vulture and Scorpion. Doing a multiversal Six is just a waste then.
Its more likely that Rhino was cut/not appearing because Sony wanted to do a proper Sinister Six themselves.
I told you all months ago. Trailer for NWH debuts 11/15 on Monday Night Football Rams @ Niners. Trailer will play simultaneously at Levi’s Stadium and tickets will go on sale as soon as the trailer is done.
You won’t see Tobey but you will hear his voice.
Write in the c o r r e c t date format, why won't you?
Oh its you. Is it really a bright idea to use the same account you used previously to claim to be some big whig in Lucasfilm, to now being a big whig in Marvel?
Star Wars/MCU crossover confirmed
I want the trailer, but I’m telling everyone as someone who is able to see it from our die-hard perspective, and also the general audience members (so many of my friends and family who enjoy these movies and aren’t diehard) if they debut it at the stadium and only have a repeat of the previous trailer with no shot of Tobey and Andrew, it won’t have the impact they’re looking for.
I can’t tell you how many regular folks are either confused about the first trailer (they didn’t watch Loki) and want it explained, or would get hooked if they saw a shot of Tobey and Andrew.
They need to show them full stop.
Vieveranon said that the trailer is played with ghostbusters afterlife so it’s possible
How do you know any can you share any other details about the trailer?
They're somewhat infamous now in r/StarWarsLeaks for this kind of crap. They don't know shit. Apparently now they've gone from being a top guy in Lucasfilms to working for Marvel.
not american. is that a big event or something?
MNF happens every week in the NFL season but it’s a big primetime draw on network TV simply because there’s so few games in the NFL season and it’s the only thing really on on Monday nights. It’s also on ESPN which is owned by Disney so it makes a lot more sense than any other sporting event, and it actually pulls higher ratings than even the average game in the World Series the last few years. Rams @ 9ers makes sense probably just on timing and that they are two big market California teams with a lot of success in recent seasons so they have big fanbases right now.
Monday Night Football is a primetime game, which means that there are no other games happening at that time and it’s at around 8 EST when most people are home. Before the season, Rams @ Niners looked like a great game, but now we see the Niners are kinda bad this year so it might not be so competitive. But it’s still a rivalry and a lot of people will be watching.
My mom's sister's friend's cousin's boyfriend's brother heard Tom Holland will likely have a big role in NWH
I heard from the same source that he's playing Spiderman. And even bigger, he's playing Peter Parker.
damn that sounds a bit sus. where'd you hear that, 4chan?
BIG if true
MASSIVE if accurate
***Gargantuan*** if confirmed
YUGE if legit
LARGE if for real
THICC if genuine
COSMIC SIZE if correct
So I’ve been thinking of the recent NWH rumors…
So if the mystery character in the scene with Holland-Peter, May, and Happy is indeed Maguire-Peter, and May is indeed the one who dies, then Maguire-Peter and Garfield-Peter are summoned (by Ned, apparently) before Green Goblin kills May. Now, since May apparently dies as a result of Holland-Peter trying to rehabilitate the villains, this would mean that Maguire-Peter and Garfield-Peter would be around during the attempted rehabilitation.
Maybe they’ll try and help Holland-Peter rehabilitate them? I can see Maguire-Peter taking his side, since he liked Otto and seemed to feel bad about Norman’s death.
Alternatively, we could see Maguire-Peter and/or Garfield-Peter fight Holland-Peter. Some of the leakers apparently suggested that Holland-Peter is the sixth member of the Sinister Six because he helps them. If they go full-throttle with that….
He essentially helps the Sinister Six in the Ultimate Spider-Man run, so this could be possible.
TBH id love to see some initial disagreement between the 3. Especially pushback from Andrew.
Btw, the schedule hasn't been updated with the new release dates for 2022 and 2023 films
“Sony this is such bad marketing.” You guys realise that the people on this sub are going to see the movie no matter what, why are you complaining? They don’t need to market to you
Probably because these clowns desperately want this movie to make 2 billions or something even though they're not getting single penny off of it. Imagine being this reactionary just because you want rich people to get richer for some reason. Laughably tone deaf
For spiderman homecoming they spoiled the entire movie in trailers and people complained. Now that they aren't spoiling the entire movie, people complain.
Some people are never pleased.
Or maybe they are different people.
Don’t know if this has been posted yet or not but Love and Thunder pick ups start filming next week in LA area
if it’s not Monday, I’m gonna do what’s best & just dip from the sub for a bit tbh. you can feel the impatience all around here & while I’m def feeling it too, simmering in it every day with the speculation & constant blue-balling is not gonna help the wait whatsoever. better to focus on other life things so I can be genuinely surprised when it comes out & then I can come back, chat with everyone about how dope the Tobey & Andrew confirmation is & all will be well. I think that’s the best move
Look at it this way, it’s for sure coming next month.
exactly, that’s what I’m telling myself currently. gonna make the wait a hell of a lot easier by just focusing on trying to get acting roles & attempting to get this damn screenplay off the ground lmao; hopefully I’ll have some good news in that regard when I speak with y’all next, but either way at least we don’t have too much longer for some sweet sweet NWH content, so all is gonna be well soon
“Why are we still here? Just to suffer?”
Well, it looks like the idea of a Kraven film came from Tom Holland himself.
I kinda dig it
…prepare the clown makeup
what with this sub and its obsession with clowns?
The sub is entire circus and all are clowns I guess
“The MSS sub has built quite the circus…and I see us clowns are playing our parts to perfection.”
Why so serious?
Since Dr. Strange makes everyone in the MCU forget that Peter is Spidey, does this mean that Venom also forgot that Spidey is Peter?
I don't think the spell works. Unless theres a leak I don't know about?
Some leakers are now saying that he does the spell again at the end of the movie and this time it works.
I don’t think so, he should presumably still know through the multiversal hivemind thing that symbiotes have.
Nice way of saying "Knull"
So has anyone gotten their hands on the NWH magazine? It came out today, right?
you f up bro
Source? I don’t have Twitter lol
Edit: meant this genuinely, can you share a Twitter post saying it’s dropping
[Doc Ock's arms have always been red and gold,](https://i.imgur.com/EYwfmhH.png) and not "infused" with nanotech like some people are suggesting. It's visible at [this](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553041085945872415/903153541089222676/image3.jpg) angle but not [here](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553041085945872415/903153540690743356/image2.jpg).
edit: My mistake, it does actually look it it could be reinforced in No Way Home. But the red and gold colour scheme was always there, even on the "needles" on his back.
I don’t see any red in the photo you shared first, there is some red on the spine infuser, but the tentacles weren’t red in the Raimi film
Also Doc Ock's arms are most definitely reinforced by something, because they look very bare bones in the pic of him holding Iron Spiderman and have some sort of metal gold/red armor ontop of them in other pics.
Compare the claws in the Iron Spider head crush scene to the one of just Doc Ock. The claws of the arms go from skeletal and clunky looking to sleeker and more pointed with something covering the joints that was not there before.
I'm not saying it's the nanotech, but the fact the colors match up and the Iron Spider seems to appear only in the highway scene makes it kinda seem like the nanotech.
Zoomed in on them and took screenshots, first photo is spider-man 2, with clear indentation, 2nd and 3rd photo show something new added
[zoomed in photos](https://imgur.com/a/YQtADLC)
wow the shapes of the ridges are actually completely different. Idk if it's the angle but in No Way Home it's connected almost like chains
The arms in the Peter/Ock pic definitely look rougher/older and appear to have to expand/contract (the parts of the arms around peter have way less of that chain appearance).
My theory is the Iron Spider pic is their first meeting and Peter throws on the Iron suit with extra arms in order to match Ock's arms. Peter finds a weakness in the arms (probably the chain-like spaces you mention), but Ock breaks off the Iron Spider arms (to reinforce his own) and escapes.
Edit: ngl this theorizing over Doc Ock's arms has been a fun way to start my morning because I definitely wouldn't have looked into the arm change this closely and now it's really interesting me lol
And with these I can also kinda see where OP is coming from as the SP2 arms do have a copperish red streak running down the middle of them from one angle, but the difference between the 2 NWH pics of the arms really shows he gets some sort of reinforcement.
Like in the middle of the claws now is definitely red that’s filled it out more, just zoomed in on picture lol
Agreed, and they almost look more filled in, before in the Raimi film and in the shot of him holding Peter, they have this triangular shape to them, but in the pic of just him they look more filled, or even more square
Yeah exactly, the NWH pic of Doc Ock/Peter has the arms mainly yellow and grey with lots of space between them, while the claws aren't as sharp looking (claw on the far right shows it best)
Then the solo NWH Doc Ock pic has these red "Y" scales along the arms and the claw on the left has some sort of pointed armor over the original claw.
Remember when there were “leaks and reports” that marvel was super happy with eternals and wanted to run it for Oscars?
The goal of the next 2 months is survival.
https://youtu.be/rt-2cxAiPJk LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
I just remember Silk was supposed to start filming back in August and it's been a while since we heard anything. Any news related to it or is it dead?
They currently are rewriting the script to fit in a bunch of squid game references
*Because, on the day Empire catches up with Holland, he’s about to head off on a golfing break with his mates. But when he returns, he tells us he has one more shot to film before No Way Home can truly be done. “One more day’s work on No Way Home, which will be a bittersweet day,” he says. Bittersweet? How so — surely this can’t be his last day as Peter Parker? “I honestly don’t know. It’s the first time since I got cast as Spider-Man that I don’t have a contract. And it’s… it’s just really difficult for me to talk about, because there are so many things I’d love to talk about that would help me embellish what I’m trying to explain. But I can’t, because it would just ruin the film.”*
This is really ambiguous and I would love to know what they’re getting at here.
He’s probably just trying not to get his hopes up in case his contract doesn’t get renewed, though he still has another appearance in a non-Spidey film in his current contract. I’m almost certain there’s nothing to worry about here though, and am confident that his Spidey will stick around for the long haul.
Again friendly reminder that if you want to see the Empire mag for free (somewhat), Empire is included in Apple’s News+ service.
If you’ve never signed up for a trial I think you can get a 7 day one when it’s released and see and read everything in high quality and as long as you remember to cancel after you sign up for the trial you’re good. It’s available on Mac, iPhone and iPad.
CUMBERBATCH CONFIRMED IT OH THE IRONY
Is there literally any other source on this? This tweet has one like and the account has zero followers.
It's mine. I took the Screenshot from the main sub post where they only posted the text from the empire magazine :)
How did Cumberbatch confirm it? It's not a quote from him.
Did I misread it? It's directly below his statements about Peter's journey and his relationship with him.
I think the quote ends with the line above. The bit where it says ‘who better to give Spider-Man a helping hand than Spider-Man’ is not from Cumberbatch(I read the article).
Oh okay. My bad.
Still... Why would they say that? 👀
No problem. Yeah, throughout the article Empire basically go through everything that is rumoured, and when the crew are asked about the rumours, they don’t outright deny them. But Holland says that ‘if the other Spider-Man are in the film, he hasn’t been told’. Which is obviously a lie.
Oh sorry there wasn't a lot of context from that excerpt so I wasnt sure
It's OK. I only focused on what mattered xD
Why's the quality so low?
Because it's a Screenshot of a Screenshot from reddit... Teaser trailer leak vibes 😂
Eternals 65% rotten tomatoes. A disaster!
yes alcohol and sleeping pills
huh...why the downvotes?
Because no one other than critics have seen the movie probably. If the movie is well received by audiences and makes money it isn’t a disaster.
Don’t ask me how I know…
4 hours and 43 minutes. Be there.
Mods can you ban this troll?

Daily reminder that Bucky Barnes deserves better
While you guys are waiting for the No Way Home trailer, the trailer for the Spider-Man Lotus fan film just dropped. It looks really good for a fan film and everything about it makes me think Spider-Man, so I highly recommend it.
I saw it when it came out late into the night and it was an experience. GJK didn't have the trailer ready or sumn so basically everyone (even the cast members) were waiting for the trailer to release. When it did it trended on Twitter for a while
It was truly a moment in fan film history
Very impressive considering it was such a tiny crew of very young filmmakers.
What is that?
It's just a Spider-Man fan film made by a really talented crew. The trailer released tonight and I figured a few people might be interested while we wait for No Way Home.
So this might be a dumb question, but is Miles Morales a variant of Peter?
no, Peter dies in the Ultimate universe *and* there was Bendis' Spider-Men comicbook about Miles seeking for his Earth-616 variant.
There’s a Miles in the sacred timeline too, Donald Glover references him in Homecoming.
Keep the faith brother
No news on the NWH trailer? My anxiety level is beyond this world ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
I keep hearing "Sometime in November"...
Eternals looks cheesy to me? Anyone else get that vibe? I love marvel though so I have faith
It looks bland, not cheesy. I wish it looked cheesy.
Tomorrow’s the day the Spidey mag comes out
I honestly don't care about RT scores. I'm still hyped for Eternals.
same. granted I haven't been following eternals very closely so I have no attachment to it other than another MCU movie, but Shang chi got glowing reviews and I fell asleep halfway through the movie
u so racist /s
Loving the hype for NWH but there are some really toxic fans. Like the one's mass disliking whatever Sony Pictures uploads just because it's not the second trailer ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Fandom always eats itself. Marvel did well it had about 10 years. This sub did well, until about a year and a half it was a different place. Now it’s “where’s the trailer you bastards”, “this movie is shit it doesn’t have enough Easter eggs”, “if Daredevil is in the MCU I’ll literally be in tears” ( this ones a real quote ), “FUCK Sony and their SCUM universe”, “mytimetoshine I realise you’er talking about a different subject but can you answer this question” usually repeated again and again in the same thread, stalking behaviour.
Anyone think Eternals might go below 60 when it’s widely released on RT?
Dang.... Eternals seemed like the one critics would like because the trailers made it look very artistic and relationship heavy... I’m still quite hyped for it tho
For some reason, many critics don't like how it doesn't feel like a MCU movie whereas some others feel like it isn't too different. There's so many conflicting reviews that it seems like critics didn't even understand the point of the movie.
I personally feel like this is a big sign that Marvel Studios and Chloe Zhao must've made a masterpiece of a movie!
Ah yes, Eternals... A literature in motion, a fricking marvel movie that is too dense for people to understand. Marvel hasn't and will never make a masterpiece of a film. Watch more movies, seriously. Also, alot of critics aren't saying that they don't like it because it's not like the usual MCU. They don't like it because it wants to be different yet the formula holds it back from doing so.
Kevin Feige looking at Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic rn
If eternals does not end up having a sequel, what would be a good way to further the storylines of Black Knight and Eros. Maybe there will be a Disney+ series for Black Knight, which will feature the Eternals to some extent?
A Black Knight Disney+ series and have Sersi join the Avengers in Avengers 5 if she ends up being a fan-favourite. Not sure about Eros though. Maybe if they can rely on Harry Styles' star-power, they could do an Eros solo project that involves the other Eternals in some capacity.
I'm certain that out of the core group, we'll at least see Sersi and Ikaris back. Not sure about the others. Depends on what happens to them in the movie too.
Sersi will be stuck in space, we gotta wait and see if she ever comes back down…
Good thing is Dane is only in it a few mins to get him to get the ring and sword. As a human with an arc for us to watch as he becomes a superhero means he doesn’t suffer the problem people have with the Eternals. Harry can be slotted in now the history of Eternals is set up and he doesnt need the whole gang.
Interesting thing is how some critics said the end credits where more interesting than the film itself.
Eros will get dropped. Black knight can just go ahead
They aren’t going to just drop him as a character, if they brought abomination and red skull back, Eros will return eventually
to be fair both of those characters could've been replaced by almost anyone
I know I can't be the only person wondering what the point of introducing scorpion was if they never bothered to use him
If Venom ends up being in the MCU maybe he’ll bond with the symbiote
They can just say he was in jail the whole time and then use him in the next trilogy
I mean they didn't kill him off, they can still use him
Plans change I guess
So Eternals is now at 65 % on RT wow
Definitely the MCU movie I'm least hyped for
I don't get why people care about this so much, sure critics reviews can be interesting, but at the end of the day the only opinion that matters is yours.
Just read the empire magazine article, there is absolutely no way Tobey and Andrew are not in this film. Minus the leaks, and everything we’ve gotten, there is just no way a big magazine like Empire would just write about the potential of it and the rumors around it if it wasn’t real, and mentioning them specifically when talking of Doc Ock. Marvel and Sony would never allow them to just speculate that, and get more hype around that possibility if it wasn’t true. Plus, Tom used to say “no they’re not in it” and his line in the magazine was “I don’t know they don’t tell me anything”. If it was true they weren’t, he would flat out say it.
All this to say, they have to be in it, right?
Has anyone watched squid game? Same rule for that show applies to this. If you don't see someone die, they are still alive. Mysterio is the sixth villain.
Very interesting point. I hope that he is since that would be more in line with the classic sinister six and because Jake was great in the role
The article also mentioned the possibility of a sixth member on the villain team, with both Rhino and Venom being mentioned as rumored, but reliable leakers are now saying there’s only five villains so who knows.
>there is just no way a big magazine like Empire would just write about the potential of it and the rumors around it if it wasn’t real, and mentioning them specifically when talking of Doc Ock. Marvel and Sony would never allow them to just speculate that, and get more hype around that possibility if it wasn’t true.
Exactly what I'm thinking. This article was double, triple and quadriple-checked by Sony before they allowed it to be printed. Every mention of "rumoured" characters is just a way to keep people speculating before inevitable confirmation
Yes that’s exactly my thought process! Almost like they want us to keep in mind these people are potentially going to be in it
And notice how they don't mention Rhino who was also heavily rumoured but as we recently learned is not in the movie
To be fair, they do mention Rhino in the article as one of their three potential candidates for the 6th member of the Sinister Six, along with Hardy's Venom and Keaton's Vulture. They also mention Rosemary Harris and Emma Stone, both of whom we have little to suggest are in it/info actively rooting against them being in it.
That’s also another good point. Only people mentioned were those we have “confirmed” to be in it through plot leaks, and leaks
Does anyone know when Empire mag usually hits store shelves?
