This guy pulled off the Intimadator look pretty darn well.

This guy pulled off the Intimadator look pretty darn well.

TheOrangeFutbol

The Dale Earnhardt at home:

FuriouSherman

Okay, that's funny.

greg_jenningz

Lol

ObsidianCrafter

they're the same picture

jdhunt_24

he looks like ron jeremy if he went on a diet

murphdurph25

Great Value Intimidator

MaskedMemer9000

Didn't Jr say this stuff creeps him out?

Volt__Swoosh

I wondered about that! Man it would be so different

Impossible-Animal569

I agree! I find this to be sad.

BamaHama101010

The Wish.com Dale Sr.

383camaro

He and Macho Man were putting on a show in the grandstands

etsuandpurdue3

I saw Macho Man too.

Rhett73step

Pretty sure he goes to almost every single race.

gsizemo1

Just a few in the south east

smmate

Nah I sat close to him at Dover

gsizemo1

TIL...he's expanding

dragonbrg95

That's disgusting

bargraphboy

Saw him last week at Richmond.

Havins

Seen him since the early 2000s at damn near every race I’ve attended.

Sir_Grams

Can confirm, he was tailgated next to us at Darlington

SkyfallCamaro

Teresa: get me my lawyer

ObsidianCrafter

*She does a little bit of trolling*

uneducated_investing

This got me… thanks for the laugh 😂

ReactiveCypress

Looks more like a short Randy Johnson than Dale

SwampBuccck

This guy has been going to pretty much every Richmond, Martinsville, and Bristol race for YEARS. Ive been seeing him at the tracks since I was 13 (am 26 now). You shouldve seen him like 10 years ago when he was a little younger. Back then he looked EXACTLY like Dale

pattmatters0n

Sorry but cosplaying as a dead beloved figure at multiple races a year will never not be cringe as fuck

x777x777x

serious question: would you feel this way if someone cosplayed as a living driver? What if an old guy dressed up like Richard Petty? Do Elvis impersonators offend you?

pattmatters0n

If an Elvis impersonator went to Graceland dressed up? I would say that’s cringe too

Bchbdaddy

Looks like they dug him up and propped him against the wall

droford

Weekend at Dales?

DafttheKid

Got a selfie with him myself

TRex_N_Truex

What's extra weird is this guy showing up events outside of the race track like this [Rex White birthday party](http://racersreunion.com/ray-lamm/gallery/53135/dscf2810#gallery_img). That shit is weird.

icymonsters

I’ve seen this guy at races for 20 years.

srosslx1986

surprised Teressa hasnt sued him yet

bakaVHS

She wouldn't have a chance in hell to win that case so it won't happen If you look at the costume there's not a single instance of Dale's name which is pretty much the only thing she can strike at when it comes to him specifically. The DEI stuff on the other hand is locked down pretty well

Bud3131123

The very end of Dales signature can be seen behind his hand. That said, he's an impersonator. I don't think she'd have much of a case anyway. That would be like Elvis' estate going after thousands of Elvis impersonators.

Comfortable-Base-383

😂

TimberWolfPackItUp

No

youarebette

Thank you. Not at all. This is kinda pathetic actually to be on this sub unless it's sarcasm

jimt2651

He’s been doing this for years

etsuandpurdue3

Saw him walking by us at the race 😂

JRR04

Hows he do that with his hand?

CaptainPrower

You know that actually kinda looks like how he'd look nowadays

Klendy

He looks like old Barry Pepper lol

Wandering_Turtle24

Nailed it!!!

RE2017

IIRC I believe he was in Victory Lane at Talladega fall 2000. He got his pic with Dale and Dale did a quick double take like a what in the world look while the picture was taken

mason7396

Looks more like he’s playing Barry Pepper playing Dale Earnhardt

AugieAscot

Maybe people ask to take selfie’s with him and he enjoys the attention.

UptownDonkey

If he had a son who could pull off a halfway decent Dale Jr there would be bedlam in the grandstands.

mymojoisbliss96

Walmart Dale Earnhardt

spidergoose7

This dude creeps me out whenever I see him. Not a fan of it.

Team_Penske

Ive legit seen this man at Richmond, Bristol, Charlotte and Darlington. Guy helps keep Sr. memory going.

herb_Tech

They talk about him on the Dale jr download. Dales actual crew was pissed the guy was doing his thing after Dale died. I think Chocolate wanted some words with him.

Roushfan5

Was it this guy specifically? I thought he was talking about the impersonators in general?

herb_Tech

I think this guy in particular.

Lost-Comparison-5110

He shows up everywhere

Jcael

Saw him at Dover a few months ago.

HendrickRocks2488

I met him at Dover a few months ago. He was a man of few words. Pretty intimidating, if you will.

Volt__Swoosh

I saw him, I thought wonder how weird it is for dale jr?

Steffan514

He said it was creepy on the podcast a few years back.

Volt__Swoosh

Hey I’m trying to find some info on this and I can’t find anything , any chance you know where I could find the podcast or any info??? Thanks

Steffan514

Him and Davis had a 5 or so minute talk about it on the DJD. It was maybe 2018 or 19 around end of summer/early fall I wanna say. You’ll just have to check around on those either during the opening segment or during the Ask Jr segment.

Volt__Swoosh

Thanks-

Jclarksiphone

I saw him at martinsvile 2010. Looked better before he aged. But hey, it’s all fun. I mean, people dress up like deceased stars all the time for events,Halloween, etc. I see nothing wrong with it.

youarebette

I'm sorry, but really, or at all.

TheEvilGerman

I am SO glad this guy is still around. Love him!

youarebette

Really? Why? Making a name after a dead man? Ever heard the term, "never wear a dead man's hat"

TheEvilGerman

??? Because he is really nice and it's cool to see. It's not like he goes "I'm Dale!!" Do you also get mad at people wearing Ricky Bobby stuff? "Never wear a fake man's hat" This guy really was a huge fan of Dale and loves to show it. That's all.

TheEvilGerman

Wanna delete this yo. Thanks

youarebette

You think Ricky Bobby is an actual figure in nascar? He is a street performer and should be recognized as such. He doesn't belong in nascar. He is a performer, you understand this, right? You checked with junior on this I suppose...

TheEvilGerman

You didn't get my point. I don't think I have to check with Junior to enjoy something myself. I enjoy it as does the last 50 people who posted him here. When I met him everybody loved him. I can see how it would bother Junior of course but his dad was a celebrity. It is going to happen. He constantly sees his dad at every race track. Photos everywhere and even in the booth they sometimes mention it. He cannot hide from his father's death when you still work in the sport and people loved him. You really missed my Ricky Bobby point there though... this is going to keep happening and the majority of people love it. Don't believe me? Find him at a race.

youarebette

Never said I don't believe you. I just don't agree. I don't give a fuck about this performer, I just said keep it off r/nascar. He can be promoted elsewhere.

TheEvilGerman

Looks like people disagree with you. Sorry a NASCAR related post pissed you off on r/NASCAR .... I also have no idea how it's a promotion. He just goes to track to have fun. People take pictures and post it. Nothing to advertise. If I post a picture of my dog am I advertising him? Kinda silly and really rather weird it upsets you so much. Did you hear that podcast JR did and he said it botheres him? Like I said. I would hate to see my dad as a living person again as well but when you are in the "business" you have to have some understanding. He isn't trying to be disrespectful or anything.

youarebette

It doesn't directly affect me, you are right. I am a race fan that came from a racing family. Short dirt tracks in Canada. Racing is something I know and appreciate. I want the sport to be taken seriously. I'm also a huge nba fan. The arenas that I've gone to don't have people dressed up as dead heros of the sport. NASCAR needs to be taken seriously and when you have shit like this representing the sport I love, I will say something. This is supposed to be about racing, not a carnival

rminor205

Clearly it does affect you because you’ve made at least 7 comments to this dude dressing up as Dale.

youarebette

I said "affect me directly ". Read. I gave an opinion that I care about. You should try the same instead of chiming in with no beneficial input to the conversation.

ReturnOneWayTicket

You're the authority on who does and doesn't belong at races are you?

youarebette

If you think that this man dressed up as Dale is doing it for the good of racing and not to make a quick buck, then shame on you. You see others dressed up as waltrip, Gordon, etc... no, it's a sideshow.. and the fact he doesn't even look remotely close....hes older, has no chin, and no features of senior.

ReturnOneWayTicket

I have no opinion on this person. You seem to be very upset about this and I just don't see how it really affects you. One person or even multiple people doing this isn't going to do anything to the sport. He has every right to be at every NASCAR race, just like every other person attending. It isn't a big deal mate. Don't worry about it.

youarebette

youarebette

I am not. You are correct with that statement. I just don't want nascar and racing to turn into a sideshow. I love racing, and as you probably do, and I want it to thrive. I just don't think that this is the way to promote the sport.

youarebette

OP. You should really take this down, or mods. Whoever can

deadmonkey03737

Why?

youarebette

Just my opinion. I don't think it contributes anything. I also think it just adds to what outsiders think of nascar, "gimmicky, jokish, and laughable" ( especially how horrible of a similarity it is) Posting a gimmicky sideshow on the official sub of nascar is laughable

deadmonkey03737

I mean it's just a picture of something nascar related. It may be in bad taste but it doesn't include hate speech or anything so there is no reason to take it down. Filtering posts because people don't like them is a slippery slope

RaikkonensHobby74

>Filtering posts because people don't like them is a slippery slope They've done that for years with the billboard, soda machine, and Blaney Cat posts, what are you talking about?

deadmonkey03737

I'm talking in general. Censoring stuff because some people don't like it is dangerous. People can do and say whatever they want. If you don't like it just swipe along. But if you censor one thing that someone doesn't like where does it end. No one will be able to say anything anymore because it upsets someone

RE2017

Yeah l think the Viagra.#6 clinched that for us. "It's a real medical issue!:- ,Brian France on 60 Minutes interview.

abirkholz94

Got the Gargoyles and everything. I love it

sean488

Not really.

ImAPalpatine

Looks like Palpatine before his resurrection

Swagloads

Met this dude at dover this year

Financial-Gur5125

Is there a lot of money spent if you travel on a Saturday for a Sunday race

Ibroketheinterweb

Hotel cost me about 700 for two nights, that was my single biggest expense for the weekend.

TurfDerguson

I have his autograph
