They think if they throw enough of their emotion at the other person / commenter it’ll impact them in some way. They just assume that everyone is gonna be empathetic towards them on some level (they’re not too far off) but miss the part about them looking and sounding like an insecure tit.

Since poor mental health has such a stigma and we as a society tend to attach moral judgement to it like a bunch of ignorant savages, it is difficult to say how prevalent it really is.

Like realistically, if we were willing to approach these topics the way we should, you could likely look and see behavior like this as some type of trauma response - and recognize that this person 100% is going to need someone else's help to get over what it is that causes them to behave this way. It doesn't have to be bpd, or some other serious mental health problem for someone to need help dealing with it.
Obviously, that doesn't excuse their behavior at all. And at some point, it's fair to expect someone to take accountability. But because of the way mental health is perceived, people would rather talk about what really qualifies as "trauma", or how "most" people manage to cope with whatever it is that person may or may not have been through. This type of group mentality probably doesn't make it any easier for this person to feel secure enough to ask for help.
It's obviously important to recognize that people are often the unfortunate victims of another person's mental health issues. And the frustrations (and sometimes extremely traumatic experiences) those people have gone through are totally and undeniably valid.
But maybe if we approached the topic of mental health differently as a whole, and approached it with less judgement *from all angles*, we could advance the discussion in such a way that both makes it easier for people struggling with mental health issues to get the help they need, as well as those who are negatively impacted by their behavior (which is generally going to be it's own mental health problem anyway).
Idk, maybe that's too idealistic. And not everyone is going to accept help right away, and some may never accept it. But it's hard to see how anything gets better for them if everyone simply gives up on them because they are assholes.
I agree that people shouldn't use 'mental illness' willy nilly like this, but at the same time, you can't claim that the woman in question *isn't* mentally ill. Even for a psychiatrist, this video isn't remotely close enough make a mental health assessment.

Dude insurance never pays what the car is worth not to mention the hassle of dealing with the company. Also she seemed pretty young. Just speculation here of course but when I was young I wasn’t rich. Had PLPD insurance. In this case if someone did something to my car I’m screwed. All PLPD does is cover costs of hospital bills no car bills. So if someone fucked up your car cause they didn’t like you. Too bad no car….
Here in Germany, my dad got his side ~~window~~ mirror swiped off by someone dodging a cat. Insurance looked at it and said, well that's an old C class from 2007, that's worth maybe 1800€, fixing that mirror at the dealership with OEM parts would exceed that, here's 2500€ your car is totaled. And then my dad got a junkyard mirror for 50€ and gave 60€ to a mechanic to put it on and called it a day. Still insured and still drives it no problem. Even the same color!
Edit: Just realized I said side window. Of course I meant side mirror.
Yep someone t boned me not too long ago. We weren’t even going fast. All it did was rip off one side of the bumper. It didn’t even completely tear it off. It was still hanging on. I tied it to the trunk and drove it around for like a week before insurance totaled it out. It was just the bumper and it was completely functional. Doesn’t take much damage now days for them to total cars out.

This seems wrong, if the insurer were classing the car as a write off they would keep the salvage, they wouldn't cut your dad a cheque and let him keep the car.
That never works in your favor. “If” you were to get the money necessary to make repairs, you are still inconvenienced for a couple weeks. Most folks need their cars to support their life, so these periods of time impact them very badly.
Most likely still will be paying a deductible, will be running the risk the claim will impact tour future premiums, and of course will have to deal with the hassle of getting the car repaired. Not really worth it to prove a point.
