If you're worried about the 400cc class not being enough go for you I dare say your better off going for the 650s. There are heaps of awesome 650cc like the z650, mt07, sv650, ninja 650, cb650f.

I have a Z900 and Z400. The Z400 is still a blast after years on the Z900. In fact I got the 400 after the 900.

That's what I'm looking at getting in the near future is a z400. How comfortable is it for >1 hour rides? And if you don't mind my asking, how much was it? I haven't really seen any second hand in my area, so it looks like I may have to go and straight up buy a new one. Which their website says are ~5k. :/

I paid $4k CAD + taxes last year for a 2019 with 7k km. But prices right now are crazy. It’s ok for 1.5h+. It’s no goldwing but the suspension is relatively soft. I could use more room for the knees but I’m pretty tall. My knees often touch some pointy plastic bits

I'd be grabbing a sander if that's the case, and then touch it up with some paint on the parts that are stabbing me. I've heard the sports/naked aren't the best, but if it's comfortable for 1.5 hours that's a majority of places I'm gonna drive. But sweet, I appreciate the advice, and I don't see the market settling for a while either.

You’re gonna be sanding the body of the bike itself. It won’t be pretty. It’s that part that hits my knee https://i.imgur.com/sYHIA7a.jpg

My grandpa does autobody repair, and I could model and 3d print a replacement part if I really want it to be less of a problem. Or just slide some foam over if it's a mild inconvenience.

I started on a Ninja 250 last year, and made the step to the XX6R, and I'm really glad I did. I have the power level turned down for now, but it feels like the correct jump in terms of power, and control.

Honestly ya. You got the Jeep bike and the hot hatch bike for when you need to scratch that itch but with misdemeanor not felonie. I personally would get the fz07 but that’s cause jakethegadnersnake and honestly cuz it’s a cool bike. But ya your combo would be pretty good
