Shiroi Suna no Aquatope - Episode 15 discussion
By - AutoLovepon
Looks like Kaoru is the first one to warm up to the Gama Gama crew, poor Kuuya though at the same time.
Still such a frustrating work environment though...
Don't forget Eiji is at least friendly with Kai and went out to eat with the rest.
Akari is nice to Kukuru...but doesn't really do much to alleviate her workload.
And Marina is cool with Fuuka and Kukuru.
So its really just Chiyu and Suwa that are still issues. And we haven't seen the actual director, so no telling what he's up to. But assumingly he's fine with how things are being ran...
I will admit that it is kinda hilarious to see Kaoru get closer to Kukuru while Kuuya ends up avoiding her.
She'll get everyone around eventually!
[The Hitori Bocchi strategy](https://i.imgur.com/H7XAWkz.jpg)
People are blaming Suwa, but the real problem seems to be the overall lack of interdepartmental coördination. Suwa decrees a promotion, assigns underlings to handle it, underlings go to other department's underlings about it, objections *eventually* are brought up to that department's boss, pushback happens via underlings again, etc. A lot of rigamarole that could be avoided with a simple meeting of department heads.
Suwa should have first communicate with the head of the attendant department himself instead of just letting kukuru doing all the communication
This is basically how it works in any company though, unfortunately. I've heard great things about more flat command structures but it's human nature to want a leader and this is how that plays out most of the time.
I thought it was pretty out of character for Kuuya to put his hand on Kaoru's shoulder. Then it turns out that he thought she was a man. But... how? She's very clearly a woman. She sounds like a woman, she's really pretty... I just don't get it lol.
Yeah haha...only a dingus woulda thought Kaoru was a man. I totally knew she was a girl this whole time lmao.
So anyways, Sea Slugs, pretty cool huh?
I though the same but then I realized that Kaoru says "boku" with is usually used by boys.
> she's really pretty
But is she prettier than Kuuya?
I'm gonna be honest, I totally thought she was a guy until this episode, so I feel for kuuya.
In animes the only way to tell between a man and a woman is looking at the ...........
...........uuuuhhhhhhhhhh adam's apple
Sorry, but I thought he was a man too...
Kukuru's boss is really getting on my nerves and I hope the "redemption" for him will be reasonable as he's just an ass. I kinda understand why Chiyu has a grudge on Kukuru, but it's been a year and they work in different departments couldn't she cool off for a bit. I wonder how Kuuya is going fix his phobia as that is going to be an issue in the 3 to 4 episodes.
For real tho, this who "lets shit on Kukuru" thing is getting really old really fast and it's the last thing I wanted from this series. This whole office environment is just straight bullying at this point. Like, just strategically designed to be a series of no-win situations for Kukuru
Also, why is is that the Tingaara staff get to have it both ways when they're shitting on Kukuru? This episode marks the second time in as many episodes that Kukuru had her former role as attendant used against her, being reminded that she should know better while those same people mere episodes prior were telling her that experience doesn't mean shit in the real world. WHICH IS IT TINGAARA, HUH??
Sadly it’s a very realistic depiction of the working world. Upper management just passes the buck to everyone below them and doesn’t care if what they’re asking for is feasible. Then people like Kukuru get forced into handing their responsibilities off to other people to cope, and whoever’s at the bottom gets left holding the bag. It’s a vicious cycle of everyone trying to absolve themselves of responsibility they can’t manage.
I can't believe it took me this long to realize he's voiced by Satoshi Hino. Didn't realize Nazarick had a vested interest in marine life.
I believe at least one former guild member had a great love for nature. Can't say for Momonga, though.
I think Chiyu is just a petty person in general.
I hope he gets fired in his redemption arc.
Oh no. I just thought of an annoying way for Suwa to get "redeemed". We haven't seen the visions from Gama Gama for a while, but whether they truly only ever appear there and won't make a return has yet to be determined.
So Suwa somehow sees one of these visions about his backstory or whatever and that's what makes him stop being a dick. However, that's about it, and all his previous assholery gets brushed under the rug.
He acts like a hard-ass, but he didn't actually do much to her today. Accepted one of her proposals, let her implement it.
The boss is acting like an ass but I expect it will turn out that he's been rooting for her all along and can't spoil her.
I mean, Kukuru spent S1 doing exactly what she is doing now: trying to create exciting campaigns to spread her love and passion to the public.
I'm tired of her whining about it; he's a nasty jerk but he isn't gaslighting her. He's just being a jerk while pushing her into a space she'll thrive in once she grows up and gets out of spoiled grandkid running her gramp's indie shop mode.
He’s blaming her for not getting the departments cooperation and part of the reason why she fails is because she’s too sympathetic.
No group will say, “yeah! Give us more work when we are already busy!” They’re all going to be reluctant to get involved.
She needs to be a little tougher or her own agenda will fail. She also needs to learn to trust those groups while also realistically considering what they can do.
I don’t like him, approve of his methods, or wish to defend him or the workplace culture there, but I think this is more of a “fish out of water” scenario than a “bad boss cruelly abuses our heroic MC” story.
She has her own flaws and this boss isn’t allowing those flaws any accommodation.
I think it looks a lot worse to westerners because we are unfamiliar with how bad workplaces in Japan can be and how demanding bosses are allowed to be.
>She needs to be a little tougher or her own agenda will fail. She also needs to learn to trust those groups while also realistically considering what they can do.
True. She wasn't slacking in Gama Gama so I believe her about the extra strain on the attendants. But it should be better in both ways: calling out her boss for not doing a chief meeting before while doing what she did with the slugs (just being more explicit in that she claim an objection, but people in charge dismissed her).
"The slugs was one of her proposals so Kukuru should have thought the pros and cons in all the departments beforehand or deal with it (which is doing in the episode)". As the point above she has to handle it better.
Te main issue in the whole situation is that we haven't seen Suwa's work in order for him to not come out as just a bad boss. We clearly watch Kukuru's side of things because MC, but Suwa feels empty or not justified for how his involvement in the workload is omitted. What is he doing that forbids him from talking along (or instead) Kukuru) to the attendant chief?
I suspect that you are correct, his way of doing it is shit as he does no actual instruction what so ever. But it really show how capable Kukuru is to be able to handle it and she is getting some real training.
interesting conversation between kaoru and kukuru, hopefully that gave both of them some perspective. especially interesting was the morality question of aquariums
kukuru’s boss continues to be insufferable though, 0 respect for his worker, and wants to screw over the attendant team just for what he wants. they should be working together, not pushing the problem over to the next group. dude can’t even be bothered to look kukuru in the eye and calls her a demeaning name
I think that's the reality of many companies though in the sense that mostly no one ever thinks about how one decision will impact another department. I see it all the time at my job. But yeah the dude is such an ass.
I remember being shocked when I found out that half of the day team in my department would just look at messages (coming in over Slack/Lync/Teams) and not respond to them for close to 10/20 minutes. Like I even mentioned, "Don't you think that makes our team look bad when you take so long to respond to them on their request?" and all I got was a "Ah, I guess so."
> kukuru’s boss continues to be insufferable though
I hate this guy with a passion. He seems like any guy who’s high on power and spares no compassion for anyone around him.
The fact he’s just pushing Kukuru with lightning speed to a burn-out by giving her nearly impossible last-minute assignments, while simultaneously playing it like she isn’t doing anything at all, is absolutely atrocious. He has even put her multiple times in a pinch by straight-up forcing her to completely disregard any trouble his plans might create for her coworkers.
Her boss is about as toxic as they can come. I sincerely hope he’ll get told off or fired in one of the upcoming episodes.
i agree, while kukuru was being stubborn, half of the reason was because her boss forced her to make unreasonable requests. she even was late to her tour because he was dumping all his work on her
Notice how pretty much every time somebody gets mad at Kukuru, it's always actually the boss's fault.
He'll probably have an episode where he's suddenly doing all this to make Kukuru grow and the completely unacceptable behaviour he's shown so far is all forgotten.
This is my expectation. She's perfect for the marketing job, she has amazing passion and was marketing all S1.
But she came to the job with a little kid attitude and whiny and pissy about not being an attendant. Her work experience is working for grampy and being coddled and excused from her mistakes all the way in a tiny place where she could do whatever she wanted, whenever.
He's a jerk and he is giving everything needed to sink her but is also, at the same time, forcing her to quickly adapt to the more typical work environment so she can be successful quickly. If she sinks, I don't think he'd care or regret it but I expect they'll show he was hoping she swims because he needs someone with her passion.
Not my style but this is a Japanese workplace. Folks seem to be forgetting that working late is expected even tho they showed her alone after hours.
While it's true Kukuru wasn't particularly motivated when she was first assigned to the marketing department, she's been nothing but dedicated to her work these past two episodes. She's not just sitting around whining or showing "a little kid attitude" and not getting anything done. Yeah, she might gripe about it from time to time, but there's no denying she's fully committed to the job. If you haven't noticed, most of the conflicts Kukuru faces stem from poor communication, either on Suwa's part or just between the departments in general.
Speaking of Suwa, if his goal is to help Kukuru succeed in a part of aquarium work she isn't familiar with, then he's doing a pretty terrible job. Forcing all the work onto the rookie (and on short notice to boot), offering no guidance whatsoever, and then getting mad at her when things inevitably don't go as expected hardly make for a productive work environment, let alone one that is conducive for growth. This isn't "tough love"; this is just poor planning and being a jerk.
This is exactly what had me fucking ranting at the TV! The fuckin passing of the buck. The "that sounds like a them problem" mentality. It's the worst of the worst. This guy is a numbers man in a SOCIAL occupation. Get fucked! Get out! And get FIRED!!
"Okay, we'll do your proposal, but make sure you don't tell the staff who will actually be responsible for the intricate care these creatures need."
What an asshole. I doubt he'll be fired, though. They're setting Kukuru's annoyance up too much for her to be entirely right, so he's going to get some kind of redemption, I think. Ugh.
When did he tell her not to tell them
IIRC he tells her to advance the plans for the sea slugs without checking in with the attendant teams, and any problems that come up from it will be their problem to deal with.
In other words, he's telling her to set up a fait accompli - do all the work beforehand, then if the attendants have even reasonable complaints, all the work is already done.
YES! Fight back kukuru. Give Suwa a piece of your mind for the sea slugs
While I was proud to see her stand up for herself and what she believed in, that fucking bully clearly isn't going to be reasoned with and that infuriates me
Yeah she's first saying "Aquariums exist for eco system preservation"
Then she's saying "Just let them starve lmao" in the same scene has me going confused here. Like is she being an ass just to be an ass?
Like sorry you're so bad at your job a teenager has to do it all for you lol
I don't think the idea is for them to starve to death, but that they can put up with fasting for the duration without a lot of harm
Kaoru is the head attendant, the woman Kuuya thought was a guy. Suwa is Kukuru's boss, the asshole who shouts at her.
[I still love how everytime the assistant director enters the room it’s always framed in this shot.](https://imgur.com/a/JG69gps) Intimidating and enclosing towards Kukuru and her ambitions. I’m curious if they’ll change the framing down the road once more is revealed about him.
[Fuuka unexpectedly joining Kukuru and Kai in the morning was a hilarious comedic beat.](https://imgur.com/a/wx4E6Wp)
[Cool framing here as Kukuru and Kaoru are at odds with each other’s respective ideology. The wires divide them right down the middle.](https://imgur.com/a/8HzrH1w) But as Kaoru says, there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong answer to this dilemma, so they agree to help each other out for the sake of the animals hence [the final resolution shot resting on the sea slug.](https://imgur.com/a/UyUOpCS)
It’s kind of neat to bookend the [very beginning of the episode](https://imgur.com/a/ppFpiu2) and [the very end of the episode](https://imgur.com/a/RMDA6Nv) with extremely similar shots of the fish swimming in their enclosure. Just another day and episode in Tingaara.
"You are on the marketing team, let the attendends worry about it"
This is not the way this works... I feel like I am repeating myself about this, these guys need to learn how to communicate with each other properly or the whole thing will end like Gama Gama: closed
Yeah that line definitely annoyed me. I still can't believe how that guy became their Assistant Director especially when he's practically dumping a bunch of his jobs to Kukuru. I wonder if he even knows how tough the job of an attendant is.
Kukuru's stack of work never seems to go down, she stayed late multiple times this episode, she went and gathered the sea slugs herself(well with Kai and Fuuka's help but its the marketing teams idea and she brought it to fruition), took care of the sea slugs even though that's not really her job, and yet she is still getting the shit end of the stick. The other marketing members are goofing off with hats, while Kukuru is having to plan an entire event practically alone? And is still expected to give tours while doing all this.
And then he just says the line about not worrying about the attendant team and only the marketing. Whats next? We market a great white shark even though they are like impossible to care for? Who cares what the attendant team has to do, this is about us and getting money for the aquarium!
I really do hope this is building to something because I just feel awful for Kukuru...
That aquarium is turning into a Jpaanese black company
I think she's set to sink or swim in a critical position which is both demanding and perfect for her.
She spent S1 creating marketing campaigns to get people to Gama Gama.
Now she's in a place where she can really shine with all kinds of resources Gama Gama didn't have. However! She can't keep acting like a spoiled kid. She has to grow up.
She's passionate about the animals but her rare quality is how passionate she is to spread that passion to the public. No way should she be an attendant and her whiny attitude is getting tiresome in how she always needs someone else to come point out how she doesn't have it that bad.
Dumping work off on other people is exactly how people become Assistant Directors.
The way this aquarium works has been sticking out as a sore thumb the past few episodes.
I really hope that in the coming episodes they address how shit these working systems are, and hopefully strive towards changes in work. I wouldn't be too happy if the working system was just deviced by the director as an assumption on terrible work culture, and to never address it again.
Honestly it has a lot of potential. Hopefully it doesn't get wasted. If it gets resolved, I'll definitely appreciate the current buildup.
We still have a long ways to go, so I assume they are hammering in how bad Tingaara works as a whole only to have it all come together eventually. I hope that is the idea at least.
If it just ends up being "Kukuru just work hard and that'll show them" then ehhhhh
>If it just ends up being "Kukuru just work hard and that'll show them" then ehhhhh
Yeah... If it goes in this route, I'll be severely disappointed.
>We still have a long ways to go, so I assume they are hammering in how bad Tingaara works as a whole only to have it all come together eventually
I hope so as well. My predictions on the direction of the show at the end of cour 1 went to shit, so I honestly can't say anything about the remainder of the show's direction :/
I can't speak for everyone else but I haven't really been disappointed by the show so far. So regarding the toxic work environment stuff I have faith that the writer/director will resolve or address it and not just hand wave it away. There's still plenty of time with 10(I think) episodes to go.
Suwa is the problem. He lacks awareness that there’s other teams besides marketing
I think he knows very well but is bootcamping Kukuru to be able to quickly learn how to cope in this sort of typical work environment.
It's not Gama Gama, the tiny, cozy place with 5 or 6 workers and you can make shit up on the fly.
She's being prepped to successfully navigate demanding and generally uncooperative corporate structures to bring her passion to the public.
I don't really approve of his method and I think he's a jerk but he's giving her the cold shower treatment she kinda needs. She's been super spoiled but she has to be a pro now.
I'm also thinking this is what he is doing. He's been playing along in a way, giving her a nickname and allowing her to fail even when it reflects badly on him. I want to have faith that he believes in the big boss who clearly sees a lot in Kukuru and is supporting her growth in his own way.
I’m sure it’s intentional and he’s going to learn a big lesson in the end, but fuuuuuuuuck he’s driving me up a wall.
reminds me of funny story guy from Shirobako, I just hope we get catharsis near the end.
The image of Chazawa being blow back for Author\`s voice and him in the party are very happy moments.
Watching Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi is like night and day if compared to Aquatrope. The senpai there is actually caring and thoughtful with his kouhai. In Aquatrope it's like they're treated like robots with zero social skills. You don't need to be a genius that this kind of relationship isn't going to lead into the profit the boss seeks.
Yeah, this isn't good either in this show or in real life, but I don't think the show is interested in making the assistant director an actual bad guy in reckoning with workplace functionality. And that's a good thing in my book – I don't want to be watching this thinking about the economic feasibility of this aquarium. I want to vibe with my Okinawan friends.
Mmm I think the theme of the show has been consistently about "shit happens in life, you pick yourself up and keep moving forward" so I'm kind of anticipating that there won't be a good nor a bad ending. Just, an ending.
Kukuru's boss needs to understand that a company is made out of many teams and that if one fails, the rest will fail as well, they're supposed to help each other instead of just let someone else deal with the shit they couldn't deal with.
Having this said, I liked how Kukuru just did the right opposite of what he told her, because it was the right thing to do and I really hope this guy understands at some point or another that he is not being reasonable.
>"You are on the marketing team, let the attendends worry about it"
>This is not the way this works... I feel like I am repeating myself about this, these guys need to learn how to communicate with each other properly or the whole thing will end like Gama Gama: closed
As soon as that woman said "oh so the attendant team doesn't matter anymore", I was like yep the interservice rivalry we saw last episode isn't just a result of Gama Gama's slow rate of assimilation and it's going to be here for the whole anime.
Yeah the way suwa runs things will eventually get the management department being hated by the attendant department. Being the assistant director of an aquarium you will expect the man to have some basic biology knowledge to understand what kukuru’s concern is
Kuuya's reaction after realizing Kaoru's a girl is really funny
Do you guys have any hope the Director (Kukuru's boss) is going to become reformed in some way? Or do you think they're going to play him as the strict boss that get pleased in the future by Kukuru's work in the finale, and call it a day? In like "Kukuru finally got recognition by her boss" type of finale.
Honestly I can't see any character development from him into becoming a better person if Kukuru just obeys his orders. At least some superior needs to call him about this toxic behaviour or we are going to have a guy like that for the rest of the show.
That guy needs to get isekai'd straight into Meikyuu Black Company
I will not accept anything less than this now.
Haha idk he might be just like Ninomiya and get everyone else to do his work.
Nah he isn't Sigma enough
It's something of a long shot, but I have a pet theory that he's pushing her till she snaps and straight-up refuses him on something and will not budge no matter what, and that was what he was waiting for
She's too perfect for her job but was shitty in her attitude and behavior when she got it.
I don't think your idea is a long shot. I think it's way more likely than "he gets fired" or "he gets outed as abusive bad guy."
It's like the snotty bitch who visited Gama Gama and has been presented in a bad light but it turns out she just passionately cares about the animals' well being. (and is a bit bitchy but not the evil Kukuru-blocking mega-bitch they made her look like)
>strict boss that get pleased in the future by Kukuru's work in the finale, and call it a day
definitely this one
Lmao I knew it! Kuuya thought she was a guy💀
His reaction was hilarious. Don't miss the short scene after the ending, it's funny too.
I actually did, but I had to go back to screenshot something. “Muri. Muri. Muri. Muri.”🤣
Daga ~~otoko~~ onna da!
I thought we had a breakthrough since he was still reserved, but at least more casual. NOPE.
Wait...was this supposed to be a plot point? Were there undertones that she was supposed to be seen as a guy? I figured out she was a woman within the first 5 seconds
Not really, it's just a joke. Kuuya was too comfortable around her, to the point of even touching her when we know that wouldn't be possible for him. That's when you realize that maybe... just maybe, he thinks she's a guy, which eventually happened.
I think maybe the fact that she uses "boku" could have made things ambiguous? But then again my first thought was that she was a bokukko, not a guy, so...
It's a bit sad he feels the need to avoid her once he realised she was a woman. Hopefully, he will eventually amend his behaviour.
His behavior is a trauma that he got because of his time in school.
I know but it still sucks (especially for the other person). I hope Kuuya eventually gets over it.
What I like about seeing character with trauma in fiction is seeing then get over it somehow and become emotionally healthy :) let's not give up on our boy!
NEW SHIP LOOKING FOR PASSENGERS!
I dunno, she doesn't seem too torn up about it
Can't wait to see how character development will play this out for him.
I was wondering why Kuuya was so at ease touching his female coworker... turns out he had mistaken her for a guy lol.
I wish the Tingaara staff would just lay off Kukuru. They're treating her as if she's responsible for every single screw up or difficulty, geez. Instead of instantly getting angry at her maybe they could, you know, talk it out? Her boss especially. Well at least Kaoru made some progress on that front.
Kinda wish Kai had something going for him in the narrative other than just "he likes Kukuru" 'cause the guy is nice but kind of bland, but well. At least he's done being so passive so that's that.
Ans sea slugs are cute.
We'll have to see if he ends up doing anything. As it is, he's just around. A guy being a good friend to his childhood friend is an interesting dynamic and it makes me sad that they're likely going to shoehorn it into a romance.
"your courtship behavior is shy, modest and difficult to read"
I've never felt so attacked in my entire life
Fish boy is such a walking meme
Eiji is such a bro. He's probably my favourite of the new characters so far.
Dude’s advice to kai for romance is so eccentric and nerdy yet so on point
The Kuuya-Kaoru drama is kind of funny and sad as the same time. I know he has issues getting along with women but hopefully he won't continue avoiding Kaoru, especially when he was totally fine interacting with her. I still can't believe he thought she was a guy lol.
It seems Kukuru has earned Kaoru's respect. I liked their little exchange (I personally lean more on Kaoru POV) and glad that they found common grounds to bond over. I expect Kaoru and Fuuka to serve as mediators between Kukuru and Chiyu. There's no reason for those two to not get along if they also get the opportunity to discuss openly.
It's still funny how Kukuru responds to the moniker given to her by the assistant chief. I suspect he is trying to train her the hard way by giving her a bunch of tasks. Anyway it's a good sign that he is actually willing to approve some of her ideas.
Finally, as glasses-kun said, Kai certainly needs to be more upfront with his feelings towards Kukuru. If not he will be friendzoned forever.
Couldn't Kukuru just ask her grandpa, the legendary aquarium keeper, about the food for the seaslugs and be done in 10 seconds?
The sea-slug in question might be the [felimare picta](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felimare_picta) which feed on [Dysidea](https://www.reeflex.net/tiere/13472_Dysidea_amblia.htm) which look exactly like grey rocks.
Maybe that is why Kukuru couldn't find food for this specific species.
Also Eiji is best guy.
Or kukuru could just google
The way this 2nd half of Aquatope is portraying a typical office environment is so uncanny, it's not even funny.
If your boss tells you to come up with a new, permanent company-wide policy/plan/event by tomorrow and it needs to be fully prepared in less than 2 weeks, start looking for new employment.
That place is going to bleed you dry.
Who said permanent?
The slugs are displayed in a room that seems to be kept open throughout the day for multiple days, many staff members express concern about their inability to care for them long term, there are staff members figuring out what's needed to maintain them long term, tours are conducted with the slugs in mind, etc.
It seems like a relatively permanent fixture that'll occupy the space in that room for the forseeable future. Or up until they can get an actual event planned out whenever management stops being braindead, which doesn't seem to be any time soon.
This is Japan tho. If you quit your job you'll be viewed as weak and never be allowed back into society.
I want to see Kai's courting ritual.
Maybe he will build a house and dance in front of it.
The only answer would be for him to bring her some fish or dress up like one. It's the only way to Kukuru's heart lol.

Thank you now i am inmagning him doing a monkey dance, help
> This feels so good, Kai!
> This feels to good, Fuuka!
ROTFL. Poor Kai, but Kukuru and Fuuka looked really happy!
Lol Kai and his subtle courtship methods.
Fuuka have to understand about Kai, or at least Kai need to ask for help to Fuuka as the wing woman for him.
This week on the Tingaara Dumpster Fire Show: Kukuru organizes a sea slug exhibit and works so hard to put it together that she forgot about the backstage tour that she worked so hard to put together last time, Glasses gives Kai awkward "courtship" advice, Kuuya realizes he fell for the (reverse) trap, and [this girl's head is more full of air than the puffer fish she's wearing as a hat](https://i.imgur.com/kv6mhwk.jpg). Bless her innocent, oblivious soul.
Kukuru’s boss continues to be insufferable but I’m honestly more annoyed with Haebaru. She still has such a big chip on her shoulder towards the Gama Gama staff and it’s not as if she herself is a seasoned veteran in the field. IIRC she’s been studying to work at an aquarium but she’s still considered new to the industry right ? Such an arrogant mindset to have just cos she perceived herself as more deserving of the job just cos she went through all that training. She needs to learn in the real world people get the job for all kinds of reason.
Maeba’s been a bright spot for Kukuru and I just managed to put a finger on it since she spoke a bit more this ep. Her VA is Yasuno Kiyono. If I had a colleague with a loving voice like that, I can get through a shitty boss like Kukuru’s… maybe.
Lmao Kuuya’s a doofus but I never thought he’d mistake Kaoru for a guy. Pretty funny though, for the two young guys from Gama Gama, one is starting to pursue a girl while the other is actively avoiding.
Speaking of Kai, of all the relationships in this show, I found his and Eiji to be the most wholesome. Bros supporting bros. Hope we get to see more of them.
It’s not that this show’s boring, but at this point, it doesn’t really feel like there’s a story. Just a light drama, slice of life about people at work. Yet I can’t get enough. I want to see them work. How they manage everyday problems. Their relationships with each other. Every episode feels like it ends so fast.
The EDs for this show hinted supernatural elements, but it feels like the supernatural part is never going to actually come, not that I mind but it does feel a bit weird that this is basically just going to be a SOL office drama now.
her boss is insufferable
[Yes, and they also die when they are killed so be careful](https://i.imgur.com/VkmlL4Q.png)
Lol that line was so funny
And in particular they starve when they don't get any food
a lot of animals' names are sometimes different than what they actually are, though. One example i can think of is that sea urchins are called "pig bristles" where I'm from, and they're not exactly pig bristles.
>The customers are more important than the staff. Let them figure it out. Do it anyway.
Man, Kukuru's boss is losing more and more points each episode and IDK how that's even possible at this point. Yes, customers are important, duh. But if you don't consider your staff important, they'll start to view the work as pointless or along those lines since "I'm not considered important so why do this unimportant task?"
Having the mindset of, "let them deal with the issue we make since it's in their department" is awful. Sure, they're more suited to figure it out but look out for them. You're the damn assistant director. Part of your job is to look out for your employees, even if they're in different departments.
Some of this may be me interpreting it incorrectly or incorrectly explaining it but bottom line, that guy is not nice. At this point, IDK if I want him to have a redemption. Cause how do you make him have a redemption without it feeling cheap and easy? Just make him be an obstacle for Kukuru and leave his redemption out of it. That's just my opinion, though.
Yeah, that's an awful mindset and he's an awful boss. He's leaving things right up until the deadlines - even putting aside the fact that "consider and fully outline several proposals before tomorrow" is a dick move - which causes even more trouble for the other departments, even *before* his whole "it's their job to figure it out" attitude.
Three weeks into the Tingaara cour, and I still vehemently dislike much of the non-Gama Gama staff. Kukuru's boss continues to be the same demeaning asshole he started as, there is still blatantly passive aggressive behavior from Chiyu, and badmouthing of Gama Gama transplants behind their backs despite their all-around efforts (largely successful I might add) to improve their performance.
Worst of all, it's inconceivable that anyone, let alone staff who actually work with sea creatures, would advocate for not feeding them just to make an exhibit successful. Good on Kukuru for being the only decent person in that debate and for taking the fight to her boss.
Kaoru, Marina, Akari, and Eiji are all cool. Everyone else can bite me. Double for Chiyu and Suwa.
Chiyu and Suwa are definitely on my shit list for this show - total assholes.
In defense of Chiyu, Kukuru did miss her assigned job and Chiyu covered for her but yeah she's still clearly got a grudge there.
Between Chiyu and Suwa. Chiyu actually seems to be willing to work with Kukuru if it's for the well being of the animals. I can see her coming around........eventually, not anytime soon.
>Good on Kukuru for being the only decent person in that debate
Kaoru had really good points in my opinion. Things are not as simple as who is right or wrong.
>there is still blatantly passive aggressive behavior from Chiyu
Kukuru literally forgot about the tour she so vehemently advocated for. Can't expect Chiyu, who is already biased against her (thanks to Kukuru's own reprehensible behaviour at Gama Gama), to be happy about it. She still covered for her.
>Kaoru had really good points in my opinion. Things are not as simple as who is right or wrong.
There are good points, sure. But not feeding the creatures you're taking care of is inexcusable and shouldn't be a debatable point.
>Kukuru literally forgot about the tour she so vehemently advocated for. Can't expect Chiyu, who is already biased against her (thanks to Kukuru's own reprehensible behaviour at Gama Gama), to be happy about it. She still covered for her.
Yeah, shit happens and people mess up sometimes. Passive aggression in the workplace is still toxic regardless, and letting it show in front of aquarium guests is especially bad. Kukuru's mistake is the kind of thing that should be addressed straightforwardly and in private.
>But not feeding the creatures you're taking care of is inexcusable and shouldn't be a debatable point.
I don't think so. It's cool and all to be offended but this was not their responsibility. The sea slugs in question were brought by Kukuru at her discretion without prior consultation. She is then requesting on such short notice that the attendants take part in the showcase despite their other duties. They were merely offering compromises in order to to fulfill her request. Besides noone was suggesting to not feed them at all, just for the duration of the event. Let's not forget that there's little information available to begin with about the species in question as per their eating habits and so on.
>Kukuru's mistake is the kind of thing that should be addressed straightforwardly and in private.
I don't think anyone questioned her. Sure there was a little jab but it's not that serious.
>The sea slugs in question were brought by Kukuru at her discretion without prior consultation
Except everyone knew she was going to bring in sea slugs. That's how she got approval this whole exhibition in the first place.
>She is then requesting on such short notice that the attendants take part in the showcase despite their other duties
That's not Kukuru's fault, though. She herself was given short notice by Suwa to plan everything and set it all up.
>Besides noone was suggesting to not feed them at all, just for the duration of the event
That's true, but between not feeding them and the potential stress they are under, there's a real possibility the sea slugs could die while the event is ongoing. And that would obviously not bode well for the aquariums image.
Tbh, if goldfish can survive a few days without food I don’t see why the sea slugs can’t. They aren’t complicated creatures
Kaoru is alright, she is just more uptight and formal about work. Eiji is a fish nerd that is quite chill too
Okay, Suwa is pissing me the fuck off. He’s insanely bullheaded and not cooperative with other teams. I am mad at how realistic he is. Throwing out crazy demands with no real lead time saying “fuck the other teams it’s about our team”. Even when the expectations are almost met, he wrings out Kukuru because they’re one short on slugs for legitimate reasons. He is the type that gives marketing a bad name.
That’s why this is weirdly a really great episode. It’s not flashy (though they’re great bits of animation), but it has a lot to say about the tug of war between Science and Education vs Commerce. Upper management wants to drive business. Garandou was more than okay with just not feeding the slugs to meet the goal. It isn’t out of a sense of cruelty, but sacrifice. That’s the whole premise of Kaoru’s argument with Kukuru. Though in the end they did the right thing and put on the exhibit one short.
There’s also the B plot of the brewing war between the Gama Gama gang and Tingara. I was hoping we were turning the corner on Chiyu, but her interaction with Kukuru and her conversation with Kaoru shows that’s not the case. Kaoru has mixed feelings, but I think she and Kukuru, and Kai have an understanding by episode end. Can’t imagine she too please with Kuuya because he thought she was a boy(?!) and now he’s gonna have problems interacting with her.
I’d like to congratulate Eiji on achieving best boy status, overtaking Kuuya after a great showing this episode. He is the hero of the romantic subplot between Kai and Kukuru. At first, I thought it was a sense of jealousy and it had me worried, but nope his beautiful analytical brain is just here to move the damn ship along. He is Kai’s best bro. Kai is finally moving things along even if it is slow. Though I do feel for him when he was so happy to get one on one time only for Yuuka to be there too. Still, he got their weird flirty boxing match thing and a Hand Turkey Hand Hold.
We’re still in the SOL phase of things, but things are promising with the war to come. That inter-department division as well as the whole Gama vs Tingara may come to a head.
- I'm sorry Kuuya, but you are now only second-best boy. How could you not see she’s a girl? She’s cute! Though I do have a type. You can get it back if you complete the Karin ship.
- So Akari is going to continue to serve as our litmus test for if Kukuru’s plans are working. Though please stop poking Kukuru.
- Not nearly enough Fuuka, but it’s fine. We did get a couple of cute scenes to feed their ~~sapphic~~ totally platonic relationship.
- Some really pretty sea slugs in this episode. Even slipped in some fun facts for us to learn. Once again anime is the sugar that helps the learning go down.
- Boy do I identify with taking every chance to get away from the desk to go do stuff. It’s suffering.
Kukuru's boss is clearly [not an expert](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKorP55Aqvg)
Kuuya needs to appreciate the tomboys!
Much like sea slugs, this anime is a colorful yet underloved gem.
I binged the first 14 episodes over the past few days and I'll be joining with the live viewing from today!
Poor Kukuru, her boss is still being a prick. But at least her sea slug idea went through! I'm getting better vibes from Kaoru, hopefully the work environment will become better over the next few episodes!
I need more Fuuka though, while she was important to Kukuro this ep we didn't get a lot of screentime.
The moment Kuuya touched Kaoru, you could guess what was going on xD. The reveal was hilarious.
Fuuka standing there, "menacingly" at Kai's intentions with Kukuru was pretty funny.
Episodes go by and Kukuru's boss continues to be insufferable.
It's getting harder to watch simply because of how Kukuru's getting treated here. Yes, she's super inexperienced, we know, but do we really need to see her getting clowned on for the nth because of it?
When she first talked with the caretaker team, she gets called out on for words and plans that weren't even hers. It really is annoying how Kukuru keeps getting blamed for stuff that's the vice director's idea. And it's just weird how she doesn't tell them that it's Suwa's plans too. God, I would much prefer to see this guy straight up fired, but I would honestly just take him fixing his attitude after getting knocked down a peg.
Chiyu's also annoying, but at the very least, she has scenes where she actually seems competent and cooperative, even covering for Kukuru on her slip up. Suwa's only ever shown to be a rude and whiny cunt who only ever throws responsibility off to everyone else for his ideas. The fact that he didn't even care about the other departments really pissed me off like everything he does.
On less infuriating matters, Eiji's pretty sharp when it comes to Kai's crush on Kukuru. His advice is honestly solid for a guy who much prefers fish to people. Unfortunately, Fuuka cockblocked one of his opportunities to follow Eiji's advice. Poor Kuuya got jebaited with Kaoru. I like to think he had an idea, but just convinced himself she's a dude since she doesn't really show many of the feminine traits that he's uncomfortable with. It's good to see another one of Tingaara's crew warming up to Gama Gama.
Kai is way too deep in the friend zone, I look forward to see if he can break out the zone lol
Maybe if he cosplayed as some sort of aquatic creature she'll be more interested.
Kukuru's boss is such a dang insufferable prick. Terrible boss all around. I really hope he gets the Chazawa treatment first before they ever redeem him in the show.
Poor Kai. Thought he had some alone time with Kukuru but then she brought Fuuka with her, lol. Kai needs to step up his game next time since he's nowhere near Fuuka's level yet when it comes to getting Kukuru's affections XD Oh well, at least he finally has his moment alone with her later.
Eiji is best boi this season. Love that cute glasses geek.
Chiyu's still a vindictive jerk towards the Gama Gama peeps, particularly Kukuru, but to her credit, she did cover for her in this ep despite this (if only out of necessity) and that Kukuru's bad attitude when she worked part-time back then at Gama Gama understandably caused her to be sour towards her. Still not an excuse to be petty at work though, or at the Gama Gama staff as a whole. She's at least okay with Fuuka if that's anything, so if they're planning a redemption arc for her, Fuuka might be the key to that. Fuuka has that charm to her that endears her to a lot people after all, and Chiyu's no exception.
Unpopular opinion but Kuuya annoys me, sorry :/ I understand why he doesn't like girls because of his backstory, but his personality really doesn't click with me at all. It's to the point that I really dislike it when I see fans comparing him to Ishigami from Kaguya-sama, a character I actually like. He's nowhere near as bad as Suwa and Chiyu ofc, but he's on the lower end of my favorite characters tier in this show. I do hope that he gets character development soon, but right now I just can't bring myself to like him.
Chiyu has a superiority complex towards the former gamagama crew while suwa is an unreasonable jerk
>Poor Kai. Thought he had some alone time with Kukuru but then she brought Fuuka with her, lol. Kai needs to step up his game next time since he's nowhere near Fuuka's level yet when it comes to getting Kukuru's affections XD Oh well, at least he finally has his moment alone with her later.
I first rooted for Fuuka but she sank her own ship by sister zoning Kukuru so I'm now on Team Kai.
Bruh Kukuru isn't my favorite character at all, but her boss is an incompetent piece of shit. A 1 day warning to come up with an event and then expects her to force the other facilities to go along with the plan while they are still doing their duties. He just barks orders, complains, and does nothing.
Glasses kun once again provides more fish trivia and says he supports Kai's romance. Dude is really great and I was wondering why Kuuya could talk to a girl so easily. Turns out he didn't know she was a girl xD
> does nothing
We don't know that. We're not shown one way or another
The Assistant Director [just keeps on piling up work for Kukuru.](https://i.imgur.com/9Pgs2ZA.jpg) I'm pretty sure she's still in-charge of the ongoing tours and now he wants her to come up with another event? Thankfully, [her proposal this time got accepted quickly.](https://i.imgur.com/Xz5E4UA.jpg) It did help that she had like six proposals lined up.
Of course the [Assistant Director wants to show off more than five slugs](https://i.imgur.com/3jIluVd.jpg) even though they're hard to take care of which gives the attendants additional work. I can already feel Kukuru butting heads with Kaoru once she tells them about the exhibit later.
[Eiji continues to be a great character.](https://i.imgur.com/PEwjP5R.jpg) It's pretty hilarious how he's giving Kai some love advice through fish metaphors. [And look at Eiji giving Kai his support!](https://i.imgur.com/6wiLLdX.jpg) I'd love to see him be Kai's wingman xD
Poor Kai though! [Just when he thought he was getting some alone time with Kukuru](https://i.imgur.com/nZ4qbiE.jpg) she of course [invites Fuuka over to their sea slug hunt!](https://i.imgur.com/TSfeDnZ.jpg)
[Yep there it is.](https://i.imgur.com/UpMtksN.jpg) As expected, Kaoru isn't happy with Kukuru's proposal. And while I do dislike shifting the blame to another person, [I feel like Kukuru should've explained that was the Assistant Director's demand.](https://i.imgur.com/Z6AvtHr.jpg)
[Now one of the sea slug species ain't eating anything.](https://i.imgur.com/Yi2fikb.jpg) Nothing really goes as planned in this show, huh? [And now Kukuru's so worried about the slugs](https://i.imgur.com/2F3aTFc.jpg) that she even ended up [forgetting about the tour](https://i.imgur.com/RYRfNrO.jpg) she's in-charge of.
[Wait what!?](https://i.imgur.com/6AnkMf9.jpg) Apparently this entire time Kuuya thinks that Kaoru is a dude! I know she's a pettanko but [how can you even mistake this as a dude?](https://i.imgur.com/kadzLwx.jpg) This is going to be a problem though, [he's definitely gonna start avoiding Kaoru](https://i.imgur.com/E7V1m5h.jpg) from now on.
[That was a nice little moment between Kai and Kukuru.](https://i.imgur.com/nvxLx15.jpg) It's good to see our boy slowly starting to make more moves on her. For now though, Kukuru needs someone to vent to and that's what he'll be.
[I absolutely did not expect this from Kaoru!](https://i.imgur.com/8aissU9.jpg) I was wondering when the argument about aquariums will be brought up but I didn't think it'd be between Kukuru and Kaoru!
The good news is after the two of them finally spoke their mind to each other, [they finally came to an understanding](https://i.imgur.com/yDcDMDj.jpg). They may have differences but at the end of the day they both love animals. Also glad to see [Kukuru clapping back to the Assistant Director.](https://i.imgur.com/PDt9zoR.jpg)
[Well would you look at that!](https://i.imgur.com/4lTdlhh.jpg) Kaoru's inviting Kukuru out! Glad to see some improvements. I do wonder when will Chiyu turn around though.
Poor Kukuru can’t take a break out of the inter-department shenanigans (which as all those with a job here will know, extremely common)…
I’m now confident that Kukuru’s boss at the sales and promotion department is going to be a negative asset for the aquarium given his stubborn lead of his department while ignoring the actual capabilities of other departments that would need to support their promotion works. That’s exactly the reason many of the mega-corporations fail time after time in the last century, and I would not be surprised if a major incident happens due to this in the remaining 9 episodes. On the other hand I’m even more impressed at Kukuru actually being capable of turning out real proposal materials like those she did here that quickly as a high school graduate - she certainly didn’t need to prepare those back at GAMAGAMA! All of them sounds like relatively reasonable and doable with their resources (except for preparation time, not by a long shot inside 2 weeks) and I must say going for sea slugs is a great idea (I never saw one in our local aquarium for example).
Kukuru’s dialogue with Kaoru at the end is interesting as that reflects on the community role of aquariums in terms of conservation - it’s clear that Kaoru probably got more training in this regard (in college?) and Kukuru had the more direct view on this matter as someone who caretake one facility at a very young age. Both sides can be correct to an extent BTW, although whether these are for the best for all those marine lives being confined are questions that won’t get any concrete answers for centuries to come.
I had to laugh on Kuuya misidentifying Kaoru as a boy and that Kai is finally getting all out on Kukuru in the most indirect way possible! That claim to visitors from Kai on Kukuru trying all out on getting the sea slugs the food they need really gave some chuckles. Alas I very much doubt that would end up with any real sparks between them.
Well that sea slug feeding problem hasn’t been resolved yet - I fear something’s going to be wrong next episode as finding the right food seems so difficult for them yet Kukuru’s boss really wanna push for them to be displayed despite no-one will notice whether there are 7 or 8 kinds being out in the exhibition hall. Sigh…
I know Kaoru's a tomboy (she even uses the male pronoun "Boku"), but didn't realize Kuuya managed to mistaken her for a guy because of it. lol (So is it going to be Kuuya x Karin or Kuuya x Kaoru folks?)
Eiji could become a great wingman for Kai in Kai's quest to win Kukuru's heart. But first Kai would need to figure out how to maneuver around Kukuru's "waifu" Fuuka. XD
And Marketing Chief Suwa continues to be utterly useless with his unreasonable demands on Kukuru.
After some frank arguments, Kukuru has started to win over Kaoru. Though winning over Kaoru's pal Chiyu is still a distant dream. At least Chiyu doesn't dislike Fuuka and finds her "useful", Fuuka has her work cut out for her in trying to be the bridge between Chiyu and Kukuru.
> (So is it going to be Kuuya x Karin or Kuuya x Kaoru folks?)
Neither. It will either be Karin × Kuuya or Kaoru × Kuuya
I’m glad Kukuru made a new friend
I’m not a fan of Chiyu. She’s bitchy for no real reason. I also don’t really like how Kukuru’s boss has her do all this stuff on short notice which gets her shit from the attendants. If she would just explain that he’s not giving her much time or options, it’d probably be easier for her
Man, the episode ending always gets me. Here I am expecting more, and then it suddenly fucking ends lmao. Time really goes faster when you're having fun. Great episode! Kukuru's boss is still a cunt as always.
I was wondering why Kuuya was fine interacting with Kaoru, I had a feeling he was thinking she was a dude, and he actually was thinking that lmao. Also, Eiji read Kai like a damn book, but he's a bro. Kai thinking he was gonna get some alone time with Kukuru was hilarious.
Kukuru and Kaoru's conversation was really interesting. I like Kaoru and they both made some really valid points, as she said there really is no right or wrong answer here. I hope they become good friends. Looking forward to the next episode, I wish for their sea slug food finding to be a success.
Kai how lewd of you, that hand is fuuka's
Kai is starting to make his move. It’s about time
2 cour show, episode 15, not bad pace actually.
Agree. Was thinking of him making his move a bit sooner but yea for the pace it’s good
I'm still more pessimist and expect to be blue balled.
Oh I doubt there's going to be anything worthwhile so I'm the same, already surprised by the pace of it so far lol
Suwa just doesn't get any better, huh? Talk about a toxic boss... glad to see that Kaoru warmed up to Kukuru though, I was getting a bit worried after that conversation she had with Chiyu during lunch about the former Gama Gama employees. Although this came at the expense of Kuuya lmao - I love how you can see his eyes shaking as he progressively realises that Kaoru is in fact a girl and not a guy. And of course who can forget his lovely drowning person imitation lol. Poor Kuuya, but I want to see you suffer more xD
Chiyu is really just acting childish. For an adult you'd think she'd be more mature about the situation. But no, she hangs over a two-day grudge for... how long?
No! My ship!
Not gonna lie, I originally thought Kaoru was a boy too at first glance. It's only when I saw that she's voiced by Mikako Komatsu that I figured that she's a girl.
Kukuru's first big assignment kind of reminds me of my university days. I think Tingarla's management can use a lot of improvement (Seriously, Suwa's comment that customers come first over the employees makes would make him a bad boss) but I'm glad the exhibition turned out mostly ok and I even managed to learn a few things about sea slugs.
Oh yeah, every time Suwa says 'Plankton' I just can't stop imagining Kukuru as a SpongeBob character!
While I still dislike Kukurus boss, him dumping so much work and even greenlighting her ideas does seem like it's funded on some kind of trust.
I know it's kinda unfair since we only ever see him when he is supposedly short on time and only dumps more on Kukuru, but I do wonder what he is doing the whole time, whyt makes him soo great that he got the position of assistant director, because it sure as hell ain't his soft skills.
But good on Kukuru on staying true to her principals against him, even if it means getting an ear full
Finally Kaoru is warming up/understanding the
OMG he ships Kai x Kuukuru 😍
The scene where eji becomes a kai/kukuru shipper is hillarious
Oh man, I can't wait for the assistant director to get his comeuppances. If he doesn't, that might affect my rating of the show.
So did she even talk to the attendants about the sea slug exhibit before she started collecting them?
Those sea slugs really are colorful. I did a google image search and man, there are all kinds.
"We don't know what these types eat." - Isn't that what the internet is for? Or are there really known slug types that the world has no idea what they eat and no one bothered to monitor them to find out?
"Salt Coffee." Well, I'm not a Coffee drinker so I'm probably not one to comment, but it sounds weird. I know from experience how awful salty tea is (from when I mixed up tea and sugar).
[Coming up with exhibit ideas](https://i.imgur.com/0D0D68f.jpeg) seems to be right in Kukuru's wheelhouse!
[Yes, but actually no](https://i.imgur.com/yc3hfso.jpeg)
I think it's pretty funny [how similar the two of them look :3c](https://i.imgur.com/RUZQZnU.jpeg)
[…I hope that's just a "quirky" brand name](https://i.imgur.com/XXm3ObR.jpeg) [Ew](#badtaste)
[Mmmmmm, but are you sure about that?](https://i.imgur.com/QIcxYO6.jpeg) If you live in an aquarium, you don't have to worry about predators, nor about food shortages. That has to count for something
[The duality of man](https://i.imgur.com/g4mcjp0.jpeg)
I’ll be honest, this beginning to the 2nd half of the series has not been very good at all. I’d probably abandon ship if I didn’t like the earlier stuff so much that I’m willing to finish it out. I don’t know what we’re building towards this cour, because right now it’s just a mediocre workplace comedy/drama.
I kinda like the 2nd half more than the first so far. This new work environment is way more relatable.
I knew kaoru was suspicious lol. Kuuya’s reaction had me dying.
Are all the "bad" votes from people who want this to be yuri being mad at all the Kai x Kukuru scenes, because that's what it smells like.
Those sea slug hats were really cute
im glad they're finally starting to flesh out some of the new characters now. also, i so called that kai would repeat what kukuru said abt sea slugs.
Wait a second.....what the heck is an Aquatope?
Based on English word constructions, it would be a water place. For example a physiotope (land place) is an obnoxiously fancy word for a land formation, an isotope (same place) is a group of nuclides which occupy the same place on the periodic table (the same element).
The title would be "water place on white sand" which I think refers to the world in a lot of dream scenes in Gama Gama, where the character is underwater, and the ground if visible is predominantly white sand.
Alternatively, aquatope has water feel since the word aqua is widely known as water, and -tope makes it sound cool. It works similarly in English and Japanese, because -tope is just common enough for people to have heard it in both English and Japanese (e.g., you probably heard of isotopes in school), but even for native English speakers to be kinda clueless at what it indicates.
I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. However, they should have used "Hydrotope", since hydro- is from Greek, like -tope, but aqua- is from Latin. Either that, or "Aqualocus" or something like it
The Tingaara arc has been so much more interesting to me than Gama Gama so far. Looking forward to see what else is in store.
I'm glad to see Kai at least making some tiny attempts to be more obvious to show affection to Kukuru, and is it just possible that Kuuya may be getting paired with his boss? :) She didn't even blink when found out he's been mistaking her as a guy.
Kukuru’s boss is such a unreasonable dickhead
All right, if anyone would like to learn more about these sea slugs, also known as nudibranchs, then check out [this video](https://youtu.be/F7V8DRfZBQI). I learned that frilly thing on their back are it’s gills which surround the anus!
Can't stand suwa tho. Shame he shares the name withKanan's seiyuu. If I were kukuru I wouldn't forgive him if he comes around or need help
Anyone else feels like this has gotten a lot better since they moved to the new aquarium? Maybe I'm just missing anime about people doing their job.
Chiyu is still a dick, but otherwise fun and educational episode. Kukuru begins to warm up to others other than former GG staff.
I actually stopped watching this after 12, but couldn't resist spoiling myself and checking on the comments here. I think I'll wait a couple more episodes to binge watch this. I get a feeling I wouldn't be enjoying myself watching it.
