"Electrician" Kills Power for the entire Village

"Electrician" Kills Power for the entire Village

ItzDaWorm

It kind of looks like that switch wasn't rated for the amount of power it was switching and that it should have been disconnected further upstream before flipping that switch. But I'm not trained in power electronics so I could be wrong.

The "LiveLeak" watermark is on point

Any time you turn on a large feeder like that you're always on edge. Even if you're 100% sure you did everything right.

Catsrules

I do that even when it is a small braker in my house.

krudosoy

Yes and its common practice to stand to the side and use your least dominant hand to turn on switch.

Protocol89

That is a dead short.

Coligny

No, that’s Russia...

J_Rath_905

Damn electricity, you scary!

cttime

Suppose it beats "power for the entire village" kills electrician

skellious

And this is why we spend so much time training people to do this properly. This is why proceedures have checks, lockouts, extra redundancy, and are generally engineered to be as blunt and simple as possible when it comes to high current situations.

sudo_mksandwhich

...in the US.

skellious

im in the UK, but sure. US too.

sudo_mksandwhich

Yeah, I really meant "in first-world countries".

adam123453

Then why'd you say the US?

sudo_mksandwhich

Because I'm an idiot who doesn't think before I speak... or in other words, a Redditor.

adam123453

You've been whooshed.

CLUTCH3R

Lucky he didn't lose his hand

Chubberknuckles

His life. He's lucky to not lose his life.

brandond111

Even the panel above the cabinet on fire, is not happy...

CCORRIGEN

I saw a Jesus face. Anybody else see a Jesus face?

BigBadBere

This video is old. Where the "village" came into play is beyond me.

vhexs

I love the sound electricity makes. I do not love the idea of that happening in front of me, though.
