I vote for the Skilhunt H04RC.
Check out the bot's reply with a list of headlamps u/BrokenRecordBot Headlamp
Tl;dr: Get a [Skilhunt H04 RC](https://www.killzoneflashlights.com/products/skilhunt-h04-rc-usb-magnetic-rechargeable-led-headlamp?_pos=2&_sid=f67c4ba0d&_ss=r)
**~$20:** This is the least I would spend on a headlamp. The [Wowtac A2](https://www.amazon.com/WOWTAC-Headlamp-Waterproof-Headlight-Outdoor/dp/B07Y552K27/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=wowtac+a2&qid=1618978816&sr=8-6) comes with everything you need and nothing you don't. It's nothing special but it's well made and will get the job done. The [Wowtac H01](https://www.amazon.com/WOWTAC-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Lightweight-Activities/dp/B085NHQ9XP/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wowtac+h01&qid=1607150014&sr=8-5) is basically a mini A2 with about 1/4 the battery capacity and a charging port on the light instead of the battery.
**~$30:** The [Sofirn SP40](https://www.amazon.com/Headlamp-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Inserted-Headlight/dp/B085VYS7KJ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=sofirn+sp40&qid=1606535262&sr=8-2) is a popular right angle light that has a straight forward UI, good color temperature, pocket clip, magnetic tailcap, micro-usb recharging, 18650 battery included, high CRI LH351D emitter option, an extra 18350/CR123A body tube. The only things it really lacks are a sublumen mode and good regulation. It's a little cheaper from [Sofirn's website](https://sofirnlight.com/products/sofirn-sp40-headlamp-with-lh351d-led-90-cri-mangetic-tailcapowered-by-18650-battery) if you can wait for slower shipping. The [Wowtac A2S](https://www.amazon.com/WOWTAC-Headlight-Rechargeable-Waterproof-Headlamps/dp/B075ZN5LJY/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wowtac+a2s&qid=1607149962&sr=8-5) is a good alternative if you're willing to trade the magnetic tailcap, pocket clip, and high CRI for better water resistance, a sublumen mode, and direct access to the lowest mode.
**~$50:** The [Skilhunt H04 RC](https://www.killzoneflashlights.com/products/skilhunt-h04-rc-usb-magnetic-rechargeable-led-headlamp?_pos=2&_sid=f67c4ba0d&_ss=r) features a magnetic tailcap, pocket clip, high CRI neutral white emitter, best-in-class headband, excellent UI, good regulation, and magnetic recharging. The headband's top strap can be removed and it allows you to insert the light without removing the pocket clip. The UI has two different "mode groups" to select from and allows you to add/remove modes as you choose. There are several other variants [available here](https://www.killzoneflashlights.com/search?type=product&q=skilhunt%20h04*).
**~$75+:** The [H600Fc MK IV](http://zebralight.com/H600Fc-Mk-IV-18650-XHP502-Floody-4000K-High-CRI-Headlamp_p_218.html) features excellent durability, a 4000K floody high CRI beam, low weight for its class, best-in-class regulation, and excellent moonlight modes. Zebralight offers [a large variety](http://zebralight.com/Headlamp_c_7.html) of headlamp options if the H600Fc MK IV doesn't suit you.
**SOME THINGS TO NOTE**
Right angle lights are extremely versatile because they can be deatched from their headband and often include a magnetic tailcap and/or pocket clip. Most of the recomendations here are right angle lights because they are so versatile. Most of them run on an 18650 cell because 18650's are a good balance of size and capacity.
A good sub-lumen mode retains night vision about as well as red, but is more useful and easier to implement. There's no added complexity of a second emitter or a fancy UI to accommodate it. [Here's more info if you're interested.](https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/kw2mn1/red_light_is_not_the_way_to_protect_your_night/) If *need* a red, check out the Manker E03H II and Acebeam H30 linked below.
Batteries don't like cold, especial lithium-ion ones. CR123A's handle cold a lot better and can be used in some lights that normally take an 18650, but they aren't rechargeable. Some lights have an external battery pack you can keep inside your coat to keep it warm. The Nitecore HU60 listed below is one such light.
**MISCELANEOUS NOTEWORTHY LIGHTS**
[Petzl Iko Core](https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/PERFORMANCE-headlamps/IKO-CORE): The absolute best running headlamp I am aware of. It disappears on your head.
[Zebralight H600w Mk IV](http://zebralight.com/H600w-Mk-IV-18650-XHP35-Neutral-White-Headlamp_p_215.html): Pretty throwy for a headlamp. Would pribably be good for riding a bike or skateboard or something where you need to see far ahead of you.
[Thrunite TH30](https://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-TH30-Rechargeable-Headlamp-included/dp/B07FVK57CZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=thrunite%2Bth30&qid=1607632498&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExN1pLUEEwOU1UMUhaJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODk4NTE0M1UzOTVNNzlLTlczNCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTM0MDcyM0k4TzRUWFhGUTIyQiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1): Very high output both turbo and sustained in an 18650 right angle form factor with Micro-USB charging
[Acebeam H30](https://www.killzoneflashlights.com/products/acebeam-h30?_pos=1&_sid=e8531a319&_ss=r&variant=12751391096931):Very high output both turbo and sustained, red and high CRI secondary emitters, high capacity 21700 battery, and USB-C charging port sealed by an o-ring and threads, can run off USB while on your head
[Wurkkos HD20](https://www.amazon.com/Wurkkos-Flashlight-Rechargeable-Spotlight-Floodlight/dp/B08K2SHSNJ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=wurkkos+hd20&qid=1618981199&sr=8-2): Right angle 21700 light with dual emitters, magnetic tailcap, pocket clip, USB-C to USB-C charging support, and works as a power bank.
[Nitecore HU60](https://flashlight.nitecore.com/product/hu60): Electronically focusable, comes with a bracelet remote control, powered off USB so you can run it off a power bank. Running off a power bank means you can get stupid long runtime or keep your batteries warm inside your coat if it's cold.
[Manker E02 II](http://www.mankerlight.com/manker-e02-ii-ultra-compact-pocket-edc-flashlight/) and [E03H II](http://www.mankerlight.com/manker-e03h-ii-multi-purpose-pocket-edc-flashlight/): Take all chemistries of AAA and AA size cells respectively. Feature super low moonlight levels, magnetic tailcaps, pocket clips, and a high CRI neutral white emitter options. [Headband for E02 II](http://www.mankerlight.com/manker-e02-ii-headband/). [Headband upgrade for E03H II](http://zebralight.com/Headband-with-black-silicone-holder-for-H51-H502-H503-H52-H53_p_110.html).
[Fenix HM61R](https://smile.amazon.com/Fenix-magnetically-rechargeable-Headlamp-EdisonBright/dp/B082CHCL9R/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=fenix+hm61r&qid=1631051705&sr=8-6): similar to Skilhunt H04 RC but with secondary red emitter, you have to go *through* a white mode to get to red which isn't ideal
[Skilhunt H03C RC](https://smile.amazon.com/Headlamp-Flashlight-Anglelight-Rechargeable-Multi-color/dp/B07QS17L51/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=skilhunt+h03c+rc&qid=1631052006&sr=8-1): similar to Skilhunt H04 RC, slightly less polished but has white, red, green, and blue modes.
