[I ate] St. Louis Barbeque
By - Nintendo64Cartridges
What’s the deal with chicken sandwich comments? I’m out of the loop, but I’m glad everyone is enjoying my chicken sandwich as much as I did.
Post on r/TIFU saying that someone got banned for correcting an op, saying ‘chicken sandwich’, instead of a chicken burger as the title said. The mod permanently banned them because they said it was ‘public shaming’ to correct someone.
Someone got banned for posting “chicken sandwich” on someones post of a chicken burger. He posted on r/tifu
I love you
I loved my chicken sandwich
How dare you. Its a chicken burger! Reeeeee!
I’m offended. How dare you
This is possibly the most creative take on the chicken sandwich I’ve ever seen. Bravo!
Sugarfire in St. Louis is also amazing BBQ
My favorite in St Louis -- and the only baked beans I'll eat!
Man i Miss sugarfire so much 🤤
Best bbq I've ever had was in St Louis at pappy's
Pappy's burnt ends are my all time favorite bbq! Their fried corn is great too!
Everything they touch is pure gold
Same. You ever have something so good it basically ruins that food for you because it’s just not the same anywhere else? That’s Pappy’s ribs for me
I work in STL once every couple of months and always fill my cooler with Pappy’s takeout when I leave town.
Mmm fax some over please
I literally say this exact sentence to anyone who brings up bbq lol. It’s been more than 5 years since I had it and I still remember how amazing it was like I had it for lunch yesterday. Nowhere has come close since, and the moment I’m within a state or two again, I’ll definitely go.
BBQ served on newspaper is scientifically proven to taste at least 30% better.
Can confirm! It was incredible.
I think I teared-up a bit. \*sniff It's beautiful...
This would be great with a chicken sandwhich.
St. Louis Chicken Sandwich
Looks like a chicken sandwich to me.
What makes it from St. Louis? Also, this is a chicken sandwich
I don’t really like BBQ I just get it for the articles.
St. Louis barbeque is so good. Looks delicious!
Does it compare to St.Louis Bar&Grill that we have here in Canada? They claim it is the best of the best and is a good representation of TRUE St. Louis BBQ
What a deliciosa chicken sandwich
That looks like a chicken sandwich
That is the best-looking chicken sandwich I have seen all week
Looks like a chicken sandwich to me
I do not really do much barbeque.
Why is it served on a newspaper?
Just a cheap, fun way to line the serving tray.
Newspaper should definitely not be used to serve food on and I would never eat anywhere that does. Newspaper ink comes off very easily and is toxic. It’s also unsanitary. What you’re seeing here is the same food safe paper that everyone uses that has been made to look like newspaper. You can even see where the printed design repeats itself. This is not actual newspaper. Don’t eat off of newspaper. It’s bad for you.
Bet he's fun at parties.....
This is a burger! To call it a sandwich is hate speech!
making my mouth water
BBQ in a normal serving size? Amazing
Someone from KC needs to be pissed!
My thoughts exactly! KC BBQ all the way!
This would make a good sandwich!
A *chicken* sandwich
That's a chicken sandwich
Actually that’s a chicken sandwich duh
That’s a mighty fine chicken sandwich
To get the best BBQ in St Louis just drive four hours west to Kansas city!
Shorty’s Smokehouse. I also got some brisket, and it’s possibly the best I’ve ever had.
Adding this to my list of BBQ to try, thanks!
Looks great! Even the sides look exceptional.
They catered a meal to my job a couple weeks ago. Pulled pork was damn good.
Thanks ill have to try it, still haven’t had pappys yet either tho
I only got to try Sugarfire while in MO. I need to get to this spot.
That's a tasty lookin' CHICKEN SANDWICH!
Are you this isn't a chicken sandwich? Just asking.
I worked at Hendricks bbq in Saint Charles right outside Saint Louis and their brisket was the best in the city! I smoked their meats and prepared their sides and breads.
This would be better if you somehow incorporated chicken (unground) and bread and made it into a sandwich
After watching USA BBQ videos on youtube, I can say that they love using disposable plates, forks, cups etc when dining in.
Why do they not just buy re-usable stuff and a dishwasher?
This is from before covid so that ain't the reason.
It's a nostalgia thing. Generations of Americans grew up eating bbq cooked in backyard smokers on summer days with their families. Extended family backyard cookouts with 30+ people are oftentimes served off paper plates with plastic ware for simplicity's sake. Therefore, I think for a lot of people, eating this traditional, family-style food off ceramic with silverware would just feel... wrong. So, when a restaurant uses disposable stuff, they're buying into that collective nostalgia.
The newspaper is a different thing, I think, and goes back to some of the first successful bbq joint restaurants that served off of newspaper because of cost during and around the depression era when those restaurants were being founded. So, when restaurants do this, they are trying to reflect a measure of authenticity.
Looks delicious 😋
Looks like someone forgot this was a CHICKEN SANDWICH sub. Get ready for your permaban.
St. Louis barbecue isn’t even the best barbecue in its own state. Amateur hour.
st. Louis bbq...lol
Wow, It looks so delicious.
Sweet St. Louis burger!
That chicken sandwich is lit!
Gatekeeping BBQ, LOL
Literally the definition of Gatekeeping.
Thanks for that.
Whatever, get a new slant. I'll make sure to do the opposite of something that is considered the best just to make sure I don't gatekeep bud. Enjoy mediocrity
Man you crack me up. I never knew KC BBQ people were so sensitive. KC is good, no one is saying it isn’t. I hope you find something to bring you joy my friend.
Negative points for using fish-n-chips “newspaper” liner.
This place is not in STL for the record. I won’t comment on the quality of this place as i haven’t eaten it, but i will say the bbq scene in STL is nothing to be proud of. Italian food hell yeah, bbq not so much. Pappys is legit however..
Have you had Sugarfire? I've taken Texans and North Carolinans there and they all said it's just as good as theirs. It's the best BBQ I've had, just edging out over Pappy's because of the brisket and white mustard BBQ sauce. I've driven 5 hours to Memphis just for BBQ about 4 times, but Sugarfire just wins.
I thought you meant the restaurant
Damn I wish I had someone who made (decent) barbecue within a 30 minute drive!
