Game's been out for almost eight years, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave us Cayo Perico as a gift before GTAO goes next gen. It's not like they frequently update the game as much anymore.
What, as much anymore? What do you mean, the first few updates when the game launched were extremely boring and they had nothing in them, the last few updates were quite the big ones, and the release schedule is pretty much the same from the beggining too, update every half an year
Lol at least the game was still being updated every month or so in its first year. The updates weren't massive but they were decent, decent enough to keep playing. When the big updates started to come (Heists, Freemode Events, Lowriders) we started having to wait 2/3 months between each while getting some small updates sprinkled in between but that's it. 2019 is when they started having bigger gaps between updates (5-7 months) and by 2020 it felt like they were barely updating it apart from summer and winter. That's only two updates a year no matter how big they are.
It's not hard to see they're slowing down the rollout of updates, probably to slowly transition to PS5/Series X exclusive updates in the coming years. It'll be awhile before they cut support for PS4 and X1 but they've been clearly slowing down with updates in the last two years and for obvious reasons.
I remember people not playing gta online in the first year, most people hated that there isnt much to do, so yeah they had updates with like 2-3 cars and thats it, we get much more in newer updates so i think thats why it takes a bit longer, also, as you have just said, the EE is coming out, which is more work for em
Yeah and that's pretty much why they made Cayo Perico the way they did. Gives them time to focus elsewhere while everyone plays catch up to all of this game's purchases.
Once GTA VI comes out it'll cost us $50M to be able to move back and forth between San Andreas and Vice City.
I don't think there will be a GTA6. The number sequence may be a think in the past. I think they will release a GTA Online with a new city map. I mean, if they want to make the most money. Customer could buy/own both games. Imagine they rendered Vice City with todays GTA graphics! I think it would draw in a lot of income for the company. People would be able to buy multiple versions of the game and when DLC content comes out, it would span across all the maps/cities. In the future you could have a lvl 50 San Andreas character, lvl 100 Vice City character and they both able to buy the same vehicles.
If I was running a company and was in it to make money, I would not push an update out unless the graphics technology made it worth it. I can imagine they run today's GTA until it no longer produces revenue. There is much more they can still do. They have not explored the ocean and space. Since you can constantly add vehicles, the only real change to game is the map.
Honestly, I'd love if they added Liberty City. As much fun as GTAO is, it always felt more fun driving around LC. So if they took GTA4 and added the beautiful sky and weather graphics to it, I'd be in paradise.
I'm not talking about FPS at all. I'm talking about the graphics.
GTA 4 is extremely poorly optimized for PC
>90-100 on 5
There most definitely *will* be a GTA6 and we already know it's being developed. GTA Online going standalone later this year basically says they plan to support it for years to come as its own thing, the rumored engine upgrade for PS5/Series X supports that idea even more. They'll just add whatever location GTA6 and future GTAs are set in to GTAO and keep GTA6 as well as all future GTA titles a separate single player only experience. GTAO will be supported for decades to come via engine upgrades and platform adjustments everytime a new generation of consoles arrive.
Has Rockstar actually confirmed that it's in development? I mean, it's one of those things that "everyone knows" but I don't think Rockstar has actually said anything on the matter.
What else do you think they're working on ? GTA Online ? If they were focusing on GTA Online, we would have better high quality updates to the game.
Also, at this point, if they release a new GTA, it is guaranteed to make a billions in just hours. If they want to make more money, releasing a new game makes more sense
> If they were focusing on GTA Online, we would have better high quality updates to the game.
I mean, they *could* have dropped to a skeleton crew and just kept the corpse of Rockstar shambling along as long as it funneled free money into Take Two's shareholder's pockets, but that would be pretty obvious from public information and considering how *incredibly stupid* the sort of business-school cultists who'd pull a move like that are they'd probably openly brag about it in their shareholder reports.
So that leaves us with three general options if we assume that Rockstar is in fact mostly focused on some project that they're still keeping under wraps:
The first is a true GTA6 in the vein of previous single-player story driven games, either with a new GTAO or a major update to bring GTAO in line with the new engine fork (hopefully with netcode that's not just the "every client naively accepts whatever any other client tells it" mess that we have now which lets hackers run rampant) and presumably the new game's map.
The second is that there is no new single-player campaign and they've instead decided to mix the story and online more heavily despite the narrative problems that result from that, and they intend to release this either as something like "GTAO2" or as the first paid update to GTAO in a similar fashion to how *Overwatch 2* or *Destiny: Beyond Light* are functionally sequels folded into live service games in a way that maintains the existing player-base while still drawing revenue from new game sales.
And the third is that GTA is still in a holding pattern along with Red Dead and Rockstar is focused on either a new or acquired IP, and we can't possibly speculate on *what* beyond assuming that they'll try to make at least part of it a live-service game too.
Like I said, "everyone knows" they're working on it but there's been no official word yet. And I said the same thing as you in an earlier comment. It definitely makes sense for them to release a new game with a new solo campaign.
They can make quality updates to their games while still working hard on other projects, they're not some indie studio with limited resources. RDR2 was in full development during 2015 and 2016 and we got some of GTAO's best and biggest updates during those two years. If you want to blame something for the quality of 2020's GTAO updates, blame the pandemic and R* having to work from home now more than anything.
Kotaku interviewed them last April and they mentioned the next title in development being another GTA but that's all. It wasn't Rockstar themselves saying it, just Jason Schreier pointing it out as he was interviewing them.
I dunno, I think there's enough people out there who'd buy and play a new solo GTA campaign who also don't play GTA Online that it's worth it for them to put a new game out. As much money as shark cards bring in I can't imagine it compares to releasing a new game. I think it would only make sense for them to somehow link the two maps for Online and have a mechanic where your character can move between the two cities.
If you can do micro transactions in solo GTA, then I agree with you completely. The future is micro-transactions.
Who TF is gonna add microtransactions to a single player game ? That's dumb. You could play the game offline with mods and give yourself money if you want it.
I still haven't memorized all of Los Santos.
I think I got too spoiled by buzzard/MK2
i think they felt they had to throw us a bone or they’d lose us forever
Nah they didn't have to do anything, this community would just go back to hacking off to excel spreadsheets while they fill up their 111 crate warehouses and import export garages 7 days a week 365 days a year.
It is not for the old community, it is to lure and keep new players.
I am still holding out on a sale for the Kosatka sub, but I am worried if I wait too long, they will nerf the payout by the time I get it
Don't wait. Kosatka will pay for itself in no time once you get it, then do the drainage tunnel method from the start. Remember you don't need to scope the entire island every time, just the main objectives, so don't waste your time with secondaries like I did.
Do you have enough money to buy it?
Cause if you do, go for it. It pats for itself after 2-3 heists, and when you get efficient at it, it takes like an hour/hour and a half to do each heist.
So, i did this heist 2 times. Is 1,5 mil big amount from this heist while playing alone?
1.5Million is about average for solo. Depending how you do it and what you get, lowest you can normally go is 1.3, highest is well over 2.1 million if you're lucky enough to get the panther.
Especially solo, it's the fastest way to get money. Though sometimes it's worth grabbing a 2nd player for the gold, as that is worth alot more and always requires 2 people.
Impossible to get panther outside of limited time events. Best payout solo is about 1.8-1.9m including elite challenge
Is that confirmed? I know that they gave us a guaranteed one for the first week. But so far I've not been able to find anyone who can categorically confirm or deny that it's still in the pool. Most people say it is, but it's just incredibly rare compared to the other targets.
I forget who, but someone (either from R\* or a very reputable leaker) has confirmed that the panther statue is unobtainable through normal methods. It's like the diamonds in the casino heist, locked until a special event happens.
Fair enough. I've not seen anything myself. I know that was the case til they added the event but the event was wildly vague about it.
you can get about 1,2 mio with one solo heist even when the main loot is tequilla (0,9 mio)
you need to get 2 x cocaine for the secondary loot (worth around 440k) and complete the elite challenge (extra 50k)
Yes I do, but I am so frugal I dont want to buy anything unless it's on sale xD
I also dont have the phantom wedge yet
That's fine, but the Kosatka is the one thing should always be bought immediately, even at a full price. It will guarantee you enough money to buy anything else you want on sale.
but but....IF I buy it now, it will be on discounted sale next week!
Yes, and with your sacrifice, everyone else will be happy.
Seriously though, just buy it. It's a printing press, it's not worth waiting for it to go on sale.
it's a good week this week, so I will wait until next thursday. Ty for the encouragement though!
Just buy it lol. The Kosatka is a cash factory like the other guy said. Plus you get the controllable missiles and the terrible landing sparrow
Edit: forgot to mention, if you already have the Stromberg you can store it there and don't necessarily have to opt for the toreador
It pays for itself in 2 heists. Although it is quite frustrating without the sparrow.
Just buy the Kosatka now. You can get your money back in just 2 hours. Also, even if it is discounted, the difference won't matter to you anyways as you will have a ton of money at that point.
Def get it now it’ll pay it back in no time made like 8 mil solo his week alone
I will hate myself if it goes on sale next week!
I can wait 1 more week. I did 2 weeks of IE grind, so I'll take a break this week xD
Literally if you do 2 cayo perico guests which 1 heist for me takes about an hour you should make your money back in a day hell if you had no brain I’d say you could make 10 mil since after the heist is over there is a 15 minute cooldown until the next is ready
wow only 15 minutes?
I swear this shit is getting nerfed eventually lol
Doubt it they probably would’ve by now
I think cayo heist is the best DLC to ever come out. You can easily make millions everyday playing solo. Setup and heist can all be done in 50minutes, then repeat again in 15mins. It becomes easier the more u do bcuz u know when/where guards will spawn. The setup is so quick, I've given lower levels 85% cut.
The drawback is the set-ups are super boring and the stealth scope out mission is annoying. I’d rather grind vehicle warehouse missions
That's true for all heists though not just this one.
Yeah but I enjoy the other ones more because there’s a story and they’re fun to co-op
I really, really hate that Pavel'a fucking talking holds you back from moving forward with a task. When I'm doing the fingerprint cloner set up I'm waiting at the laptop while he's still rambling on about the fucking cameras outside. I wish rockstar would just let us go inside, do what we need to do as fast as we want, get out and finish the mission. Instead we have to wait for that crazy Russian.
Definitely annoying af. I stopped fucking with the cameras because it's useless and I figured it would save time. And it totally would! But instead you gotta wait for Pavel to stfu.
God this pisses me off so god damn much. JUST LET ME TAKE A PICTURE OF THE FUCKING PLANNING BOARD.
A little tip. As soon as you enter the safe house just take a picture of the room, no zoom or nothing. It still gives you the option to send to Pavel.
Scope out mission is super easy once you figure out you can jump over the checkpoint with a dirt bike.
And yea, the setups are a little boring but they're fucking *fast*.
I’ve done that jump and it does make it simpler, but it’s a tough jump to land and not fly off the cliff. Then if your wreck it, you can’t find a bike.
Yeah set-ups aren’t bad and do go quick. Returning to the sub is annoying. The timed ones where you can only try them once are tough.
If you wreck it, kill yourself (drown) and then when you spawn by the airport again there is another dirt bike back behind the walking guard (near power station)
You are the GOAT! Thanks didn’t know this
It IS rather finicky. Sometimes you launch far onto the cliff, sometimes you just make it to the edge only for your bike to be pulled down into the water by gravity, sometimes you'll be launched into the air while the bike stays.
How do you jump over it?
There's a hill to the left of the checkpoint that you can ramp off of. If you're driving towards it there are 3 palm trees, go between the two on the left it lines you up pretty well.
I just drive the bike through the door to the right of the gate every time
doing only cayo perico can get boring but mixing it with the double money events (last week crates this week vehicles warehouse) can still be fun and earn a great amount of money
Bruh you literally need just 5 preps and boom, easy 1.3mln, unlike vehicle warehouse where you need to deal with stupid ai crashing into you when they panic or supper accurate enemies
I hear ya, but I still enjoy the export jobs more.
Odd but decent movie
Inflation. A compact car for the price of an old super for example. Or a sport car for the price of an open wheel racer. And in the summer DLC this year it looks like you get to more opportunity to spend your money until your head spins.
Hard to find anyone who can do it stealthy, I done it 5 times on my own. If ya see an invite from Sakoslayer 72 and you can play GTA. Jump in there's 5 million up for grabs
