Approach vehicle acquired! 😂😁. Real life Velum👍

I just hope that the pilot's door was properly closed in this pic.
It was not, that's why they chose to photograph it from that angle, it comes with a faulty door.
"THE BLOODY DOOR WON'T CLOSE!"
Dooooorrr stuck...... Dooooooorrr stuck......
Please… I beg you
Good, now just fly south until you hear angry druglord swearing, yes?
Good. Now fly south until air become thick with herbs and profanity heheh
There will be a disguise in the back, no?
Does it come with suicidal autopilot?
Does it also have a tendency to pitch down and veer right?
Today i was flying to cayo perico and a guy on opressor mk2 missed 3 missiles then landed and started firing explosive bullets . Luckily I made it to cayo perico
Seriously, why is everyone trying to shoot these guys down?
Because some people only get joy from ruining the fun of others.
Yeah I was lucky enough that i was close to the point that triggers entry to cayo perico
El Rubio here I come
Good for you! Now go fly to some drug-crazed trafficker's Island and steal some shit!
I guarantee the velum will be destroyed
Yeah, probably 🤔😁
This is not the Velum how dare you! Your missing one propellor blade!
Blow it up. Too many bad memories
Nice, just watch out for some flying motorcycles or maybe some jets behind you
Where’s the dudes in suits and smugglers doing a deal?
Huh, good question. Did it come equipped with a suitcase of cocaine?
During a sunset it looks yellow.
The Velum in game is actually a TBM turboprop, not a piper Saratoga, despite the piston sounds
Despite being a piston-engined turboprop it flies like it’s powered by a ceiling fan
Does it do 0-60mph in 4 minutes flat?
No idea why you got downvoted. The velum is painfully slow and by all reasoning shouldn't even be able to gain lift at those speeds. Slow planes is a pet peeve of mine in gta.
Hate to be that guy but isn't the velum based mainly on the Malibu? Cool spot anyways
Isn’t the Saratoga still part of the same Piper family of aircraft?
It is not. The Malibu is a bigger airframe. If anything this looks more like a Daher TBM series. Malibu’s are pretty similar though.
Actually, you can look it up. The Saratoga is a Piper aircraft.
And the photo above looks close enough. Also the thing that actually match up entirely is the placement of the tail number.
Piper is the manufacturer. They are not on the same platform within the piper lineup. Cherokees, arrows, archers, Saratoga’s all share an airframe design but the Malibu’s is unique.
And our source is the equivalent of a wikipedia page which is not sufficient evidence to prove anything in terms of an argument.
There are dozens of aircraft that look similar to each other, and at least the Saratoga has the same three boxy windows that the Velum has. As far as I can tell, the Malibu, the Navajo, and the Daher, and the 414 all look dissimilar enough to the Velum that I’d want to know the credentials of the author of the fandom page and the rationale to assign those aircraft as the inspiration for the Velum.
You mean like this matrix.
The Saratoga fuselage is down-swept as all the older piper designs are, it does not generally have de-icing equipment like this aircraft does, it does not have a turboprop engine, like the game aircraft does, it does not have a high tail, like the game aircraft does. If you're basing your entire rationale on the window shape, you'll find the malibu is not dissimilar and shares far more design features than the saratoga does. source: owned a saratoga.
"it's red and white and has low wing design, gotta be based off this one guys! we found it!"
Nah, it’s missing a set of windows.
Okay, I am convinced you're just trolling now.
It's a reflection. Different trim levels of the same aircraft may come built differently. Aircraft aren't like cars where you go down to the ford dealership and get an escape and you pick the color and a couple of options and that's it. You can order them with different window arrangements, interior configurations, avionics equipment, engine platforms, radar or not.
It doesn't really matter, believe what you want but not everything you read on a wiki is gospel.
Again the issue with this one is that the nose is too elongated.
And again, unless we’re actually going to be asking the game designers which aircraft they were using as a template for the in-game aircraft, all we can do is guess by looking at pictures of different aircraft and by assigning certain aircraft as the inspiration based on our own biases.
I agree that the pic above is problematic because of the propeller and the body style with the windows. At least the the length of the nose looks closer though. Half the suggested aircraft photos based on the wiki linked articles for the Velum looked to be a far cry from any of the features of the Velum. The Malibu did look the closest, but all I could tell was that whoever wrote the comparison was still guessing.
Did you shoot it with a rocket launcher? Is that as tough as the one which you fly to Perico?
Is it more armored than an A-10 Thunderbolt though?
But for what hiest
Can it change colors mid-flight?
its probably used for drugs in real life too lmao
