That’s our special boy!
He looks great out there :’)
Didn’t take a lot to outwork dahlin there what the hell was he doing
Tbh he does that kind of thing a lot. He still plays like he's used to being the highest-skilled player on the ice by far and doesn't handle it well when NHL-level players push him around, battle for pucks, and don't fall for his moves/poke checks.
Yeah he’s uhhhh rarely as advertised let’s be honest
People this off-season were saying he’s elite lol
Showing the same enthusiasm for the game as the Buffalo home feed commentator.
I'm all for dunking on Buffalo, but I will not tolerate any Rick Jeanneret slander. With all the bush league teams the Sabres have iced in front of him over the years, that man deserves a fuckin statue for still sticking with them.
I'm assuming you're new to hockey and will give you a pass. RJ is one of the greatest announcers ever to call an NHL game. He's done it for over 50 years with some of the worst teams to ever grace an NHL arena. Cut the old guy some slack.
Rasmus was dilly-dahlin on that play
He also had the giveaway on the first shorthanded goal... rough night for against Seattle... again.
Tanev to Dahlin:
#YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE TURBO TEAM
“Tanev outworks...” could easily be the title for any Tanev highlight clip.
Hahaha I was thinking that as I wrote the title. This might be one of the most “Tanev” goals I’ve seen in a while.
Dahlin turned the puck over and it led to the [1st short handed goal against](https://mobile.twitter.com/dylanfremlin/status/1465477498523766785) as well.
Now, you leave Rick alone. He deserves better than that hot mess of a team.
Dahlin also got tripped on that play
gourde already stole the puck before Dahlin tripped.
Dahlin is my weekend spirit animal
That straight up looks like Dahlin has given up.
That’s actually him trying his hardest.
Not a great look for Dahlin after Raymond made him look like a traffic cone in OT the other night
He’s a bust unless he immediately demands a trade to a real nhl team and then maybe he can live up to the hype. It’s not happening in Buffalo ever and the sooner he leaves, the better
Holy shit I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a d man look so lost on a play lmaoo. What was Dahlin even doing at the end
You know how the backboard of a basketball net lets you bank the shot into the hoop...that.
oh man what a beaut. tanev has been a treat to watch this year
My estimation of Dahlin as a man just fuckin' plummeted
He’s a bust but maybe can turn it around if he demands a trade immediately to a real nhl team
What you gotta appreciate is how Dahlin blows it on every opportunity this play. Truly a stud Chad move.
Check the clock baby it’s fuckin turbo time
Dahlin absolutely deserves shit on that turnover rightfully so but are people really going to ignore Tokarskis lack of a second effort? Dude just watched the puck get away from him and he doesn't even really move.
Let me introduce parties involved in this mess:
Tokarski is 3rd stringer, playing role of 1st goalie.
Dahlin was supposed to be generational talent.
Do you think Dahlin can still live up to those expectations or do you think he is a bust?
As generational talent ? I doubt that now. But he can be serviceable top pair blue liner.
Buffalo fans are literally booing Dahlin when he touches the puck. Fucking brainless fans at this game that are even worse than the “SHOOT” crowd. Seriously bush league.
I’ll trade for one dahlin
A Dahlin turnover also led to the first goal.
Because of two turnovers, but it's more than that. You can see the second goal up top, and [here's the replay of the first goal](https://hlslive-wsczoominwestus.med.nhl.com/editor/fe6d9095-a309-45f5-9bb5-3c748ab94d00.mp4), for which he was also directly responsible.
That's two lazy, unmotivated giveaways that led to shorthanded goals *in one period*. A dumb mistake is forgivable, whatever, it happens to everyone. A low-effort play is less tolerable, but again, nobody's perfect. A dumb mistake on a low-effort play is bad, but not exactly deserving of boos.
But *two* low-effort turnovers that lead to to two SHG against in one period? Boo that man. Boo him hard.
I think it's bad to boo your own players but he was directly responsible for 2 goals and has been generally bad
Also when they booed him there was 10+ seconds left in the period and he just stayed behind his net with the puck letting the clock run out.
Someone hasn’t watched him all season long
I’m sure booing a clearly frustrated 21 year old who’s played his whole NHL career on Buffalo is a great way to get his confidence back.
It’s not the fans fault he’s played poorly and it’s not the fans job to get him to play well.
It's also not his fault if he requests a trade out of buffalo before his current contract is even over
I don't think Sabres fans care that much if he gets traded, nor should they. He keeps getting worse every year
Be prepared to watch him return to form as soon as he hits the ice with a better team.
Buffalo has problems that run a lot deeper than Dahlin.
Yeah, he’s gonna be elite on a real nhl team, not this AHL poverty franchise in the wrong league that needs to be dissolved or moved
I get that, but how much of that is on Dahlin, and how much of that is on Buffalo never being a competitive team. The Sabres can't just give their 1st overall picks nothing to work with and then turn on them and trade them 5 years down the line, you won't have success doing that. You have to figure out a way to make it work with your elite talent.
We’re just waiting for the team to die and move to Quebec at this point. They’ll never be good again as long as the Pegulas own the team
yeah, if I were the Sabres GM I’d quietly be exploring the trade market for him just to see what his value is.
I’ll take him
What are you willing to give up?
How about a Debrusk?
~~I’d entertain Debrusk, +, +.~~
mehh, maybe I wait a season to see how he does next with the influx of youth on the roster and Power stepping in to relieve him the burden of being the guy on defense and then reevaluate.
How about Boeser for Dahlin? We can also throw in a prospect like DiPietro or Karlsson too
he doesn't fit the Sabres' timeline well.
A second third and a prospect, but idk how you guys value him
Wait so why are you basically saying he sucks but then being super picky about what's offered for him, it can't be both ways
Did u see what Seth Jones went for?
It’ll be partially their fault if it continues though
Edit: ah yes my mistake! Nothing helps a 20 year old human being improve more than feeling they are letting down thousands of people and being Boo’d at home!
Rasmus is clearly struggling, and that’s part of growth. Effort also seems low, a frustrating visual for an individual clearly frustrated at all of a sudden not being able to dangle and out-skill NHL players much like he’s done his whole life. He will mature through it, so I think patience is a virtue he may need. All the failure pre 2018 and a couple years after is not on him.
But the team now needs to lean on his talent with Eichel gone and I can’t imagine it’s an easy transition
lol no it won't
But if the fans want him to play better then why go out of their way to be assholes and make the guy feel like shit? As a fan you’re making the team you cheer for worse, not to mention being a complete dick.
He’s been playing pro hockey since he’s been 16. If he’s so mentally fragile that he can’t handle some booing then there is a bigger problem here.
Super interesting interview, wow 😳
The entire story of the 72 Summit Series is incredibly interesting, would highly recommend looking into it. Especially if you’re Canadian.
Driving another very highly regarded #1 draft pick out of their dumpster fire ? We’ll call it the sabres special
I know "lol Sabres" is the meme du jour and I'm not saying they are blameless, but I'm fairly certain any fanbase would've booed Dahlin after that period.
[Here's the replay from the first goal](https://hlslive-wsczoominwestus.med.nhl.com/editor/fe6d9095-a309-45f5-9bb5-3c748ab94d00.mp4), which was just a few minutes earlier. That's two turnovers, both of which led to SHGs, in one period. Dahlin looked completely disinterested and unmotivated on both plays.
Again, not saying Buffalo is a perfect franchise and they have their share of blame for the past decade, but that's two completely unacceptable displays of effort just minutes apart, and Dahlin has to take responsibility for that.
Thank you for this.
The only thing Buffalo is guilty of with Dahlin is falling for the hype fest pre-draft.
I don’t see him figuring it out in Buffalo, to be honest. If there were legitimate reasons to think they’d be significantly better in the next 2-3 years, then maybe, but are there? I don’t think so. They’ll probably end up booting him for pennies on the dollar, unfortunately.
Ohhh, ANOTHER thread of other teams' fans telling Buffalo fans out to act/think. Thank you!
Come on, Sweens. Get Dahlin for Debrusk.
I miss Turbo :(
Special Teams so good, I hear the Patriots calling for them.
Looks like Dahlin is doing the PLD route to get traded to a real NHL team. Don’t blame him tbh, Jack is gonna light it up in Vegas and all roads lead out of buffalo anyway.
We might as well let Quebec have their nhl team via expansion, dissolve the Sabres, and put an actual AHL team in Buffalo cause that’s all the Sabres really are and will always will be
That might be the worst poke check in the history of poke checks.
