This can't just be me.... right?
By - MeMe-God-7
I’M NOT ALONE?????
I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS
We in da shitty hearts gang.
fr dude i always thought i had a bad condition bc it for some reason happens to me like twice or three times a week
Google says you're already dead
It’s actually your rib cage rapidly moving randomly, I don’t know why it does this, it just does
Time for necro..! oh wait
>Time for necro..!
Bing be like
Omae na wo shindeiru.
Omae wa mo
Heart go brrr
Pls no heart attack
ME TOO I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MA
Dude, my hands are legit already super warm because of good circulation, but i still get this
Same, my hands are pretty much always warm, but every once in a while my heart will still do the annoying pinchy feeling
Visceral pleura. It's a layer of flexible flesh covering your lungs that helps lubricate and ease expansion whenever you breath. Sometimes it folds over itself, doesn't lube properly, and sticks to itself. That "heart pain" happens when you breath in, and unstick the thing.
Oh man you took a stress factor away for me thank you! I usually have it on my right side, since I smoke a lot I always thought it was cancer or a collapsed lung.
I hateeeeee that! That mudatrucha
Yeye. It can be annoying, but the quickest way to fix it is a steady, deep breath.
Yes! My nanna used to say it was indegestion but I was like nah fam! You don't get it. It feels like someone has put a very small pin in my chest and I must breath very spesfically or I will cry
Bruh, sometimes, my legs suddenly feel like they are on fire. It doesn't hurt at all, but its weird
Bruhh i am the opposite with my hands
ITS NOT JUST ME
Man, that sounds horrifying.
I always wanted to know what that was. Now I wish I wouldn't know.
What the fuck is that legit? Oh my god. My meat sack really is a sack.
Ahh! I’ve had this happen since I was a kid and every single time, I legit think I’m going to die for a moment or two.
No you’re still alone. It’s just that other people do what you do
HOLY SHIT I THOUGHT I HAD A CONDITION AND WILL DIE SOON. GUESS I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE
HELL YEAH IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!
Yeah, for me it's a sharp spike feeling in the side of my lungs. Always have to control my breath.
Your first thought is that your heart is hurting but when you play closer attention from where the pain is coming from you realize that it’s your lung. It feels as if someone stabbed a hole in your lung and that spot is being sucked out, a continuous wave of pain growing stronger
From what I read it's a pinched nerve between your ribs and lungs, still makes me squirm thinking about it
Edit: It's actually called [precordial catch syndrome](https://www.healthline.com/health/precordial-catch-syndrome#diagnosis), basically temporary pain caused by irritated nerves in your lungs or ribs, its very common.
So google lied to me and it's not terminal?
Its temporary and common, don't worry, you don't have lung cancer.
Dammit. I already robbed the fucking bank!
I'll be your alibi if I get a cut! 😏
It can be terminal if you put your heart into it
Every-time you google a symptom you experienced you feel like you lost decades of health
Oh that's cool, I always referred to it as a catch in my lung
Same, I used to think it was some long-term affect of pneumonia bc I had it when I was like 7, and didn't ask for some reason
THIS HAPPENS TO ME WVERY TIME I WAKE UP. FRICKING ANNOYING.
Is it on the left or right lung? Mine is on the left
I was always so sure I was fucking dying. I always get extremely weak and tired after
yeah no the second part never happens to me i think ur in real trouble
You might want to look into symptoms of Tachycardia and have a discussion with your doctor regardless. Feel better!
Thanks! Haven’t experienced this in a couple years now, thank goodness. But it was so exhausting when it did happen.
You absolutely should not be feeling tired and weak after, that is evidence of a cardiovascular abnormality. I know this because I have cardiovascular abnormalities and experience strong ectopic beats.
I recommend having those experiences looked into.
Mmm heart palpitations are fun, aren’t they?
Sucks doctors can’t make them go away.
It doesn't help that a lot of things can cause them too.
Too much of a stimulant? Heart palpitations.
Anemia? Heart palpitations.
Vitamin deficient (of multiple kinds)? Heart palpitations.
PTSD? Heart palpitations.
General stress? Heart palpitations.
Lack of sleep? Heart palpitations.
Thankfully, for me, that’s what causes it
Yea, I had some for a while. I focused on sleeping better and fixing my diet. Gave up soda and limit processes food. No idea what did it but I'm fine now lol.
Life is so great
That second part doesn’t seem very normal, I think you might actually want to contact a doctor about that...
One of the causes of this type of pain is [costochondritis](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/costochondritis/symptoms-causes/syc-20371175).
I think for the hyperlink you have to get rid of the gap between ] and (
"Worsens when you take a deep breath or cough"
Are we talking about that lung thing that makes it feel like your lungs are in some type of pain cage or are we talking about the heart? I'm confused if I've ever had what op has or not. I think I managed to avoid both for at least ten years so I only have vague memories.
The pain comes from the muscle wall of the rib cage, and the inflammation of the cartilage, so it's more like pressing against an injury from the inside. Many people have a hard time telling how deep pain is, so it can be mistaken for a heart or lung issue.
I describe it as suddenly loosing the ability to expand my chest as I breathe. Sometimes I can take smaller breaths, other times I'm practically holding my breath. The organs inside the chest are functioning properly, it's inflammation and nerves.
Can confirm, mine used to be so bad that i would get out of breath while sitting in class, nor speak more than a few words without breathing heavily. Mine got worse in the cold, anytime i inhaled cold air it put me in a coughing fit. Sometimes it’d feel like my chest was on fire. Ibuprofen didnt help but with the pain, if still be out of breath, my resting heart rate would also increase from 64 to 100 something during the episodes. It hasn’t stopped for two years now, but it has lessened (pain and severity wise). Still cant laugh or it’ll put me in a coughing fit.
It also didnt help that i would do fencing and bad mitten when this was at its worse. I took a few weeks break and it didnt help it much
Thank you for this
You're welcome! I found this condition completely by accident, while trying to find someone on yt with fibro (which I have).
Ah yes at least it reminds me I'm alive.
Especially when you take deep breathes when it's happening, hurts so much
Ikr I have to take really small breath cz I'm afraid my heart will explode with pain
Precordial catch syndrome? Sharp pain in the left side of your chest near your heart, feels like a pinpoint, feels worse with deep breaths or when you move. You stay still and take shallow breaths and it goes away quickly with no lasting effect. I've had this from time to time since I was a kid. Naturally, I assumed I had a bad heart or something and never told anybody, just acted cool while letting it pass.
Why not just finish the job
All my homies feel is *pæn*
Why didn't that kill me and end my misery
r/UsernameChecksOut also hope you are ok bro, you are loved
It is mostly a joke but yeah I am pulling through , thanks a bunch it means a lot
I have these pains and no one i know else has it? HUH?
That's just your heart reminding you it can kill you anytime it feels like it
Oh so I'm not dying? Good to know
Better question why not
I get this all the time. I currently have a heating pad on my chest, I think it helps. Random chest pains are horrible. I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Had this happen to me earlier today. My pulse shot up to 137bpm.
This can be your heart doing something weird periodically, but it can also be esophageal spasms. When your esophagus spasms it can feel cause chest pain and also affect your breathing, in a way very similar to a heart attack.
when i first joined reddit i thought i was different. The more i went down the rabbit hole, the more things i realized i wasn't alone in. Im not the only one who hets random pain in their side or heart. Im not alone in pretending that i can shoot water outta my fingers in the shower. so, as i have realized, reddit is one mind on more than just preferences. Its a hive mind as in we all do the same things. My conclusion? we all need to get a life.
Too many jelly beans not enough water
so it isn't just me?
I used to get this all the time, just means you have to be more active
I've been suffering from this for years it comes and goes randomly, is this normal?
Or when it goes
*Floof blump blump floof*
I have it almost twice a week in the side of my chest, when I try to breath it stabs harder lol
Thought I was alone
I remember that more than a year ago I was in bed and suddenly I began to have stabbing chest pain along with a tingling in my left arm, I had a hard time getting up at that moment I just accepted the fact that I was going to die, after a while it passed and I think it is a pain that I do not want to experience again, goodnight everyone.
[Precordial Catch Syndrome.](https://www.healthline.com/health/precordial-catch-syndrome#diagnosis) it might be what you (or other people in the comments) are experiencing, or it might not idk. I’m pretty sure it’s what I’ve got but you could just have something else.
Thats called a heart palpitation. Had my first one in 2nd grade. Was the most extreme one I experienced and lasted for 45 minutes. (Breathing a certain way helps a bit). 2nd worse one I had was in highskewl and was entirely my fault, drank a 24 pack of mountain dew in one night and was hospitalized the next day. Its bassicly a minor form of heart attack.
Yeah this that is shit.
That’s called heart burn?!
Im with you my brother
Yeah it’s so weird
I ALWAYS THOUGHT I JAD A CANCER OR SOMETHING
What is the creature in this meme?
You’re not alone man I feel like I’m about to die
fuck i know what you mean i read somewhere what it was i just forgot what it was called but i know that its technically harmless ao yeah rly fucking annoying
The heart problems gang
(Not really, i think its normal)
Same idk y it happens
Plot twist, everyone commenting "same" here just all have heart cancer
WAIT MORE PEOPLE HAVE THIS!!!
Never happend... U should see a doctor
Literally just happened to me a few minutes ago
Just get it over with already
I thought I was going to die now that it's common I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO LIVE YAY
Ya for me I think of it like a piece of mulch going through my valves, what I think it actually is though is like a weird spasm or cramp
Right after I saw this post I got hit with that sharp pain. Why must you curse me OP
For real? Why does it stop? You pear shaped coward! End it!
Tell me whyy
The pain lets you know whos really in charge
It’s growing pains in your ribs
I thought it was just me...
Wait, so my heart isn’t messed up? This is NORMAL?!?
I had that happening to me for a month not long ago, was just from stress luckily
Yea I hate that it doesn’t finish the job
Yeah probably time to go get that checked out. Speaking to myself here
My guess is not enough exercise + wack sleeping schedule
Damn it really hurts
wanna make a religion out of this?
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT NO ONE ELSE HAD THIS HOLY SHIT
I've never had that.....
That pain doesnt happen in my heart, it either happens in my left shoulder (never the right) or in my stomach area for some reason
Literally never happened to me I feel left out
Just stab that motherfucker that's gonna stop the pain
I think you should refer a doctor my friend.
The worst is when it happens to your legs and you have to try and walk.
My family has had heart problems in the past especially with my grandparents and the first time I felt that I thought yep this it it. It’s my time
This happened to me when I was eating something hot and my chest felt like it was on fire while being stabbed
A vibe check
THERE ARE OTHERS!?!?
Good job, OP. Others might not have noticed, but I see you out here seeking medical advice in the guise of a meme.
Not your heart, you could have precordial catch syndrome. It's basically like air bubbles trapped in your rib cage.
I hope it decides to stop being a coward and kill me already
Agreed. It feels like it's stabbing me everytime i breathe
Ah so I don't have lung cancer. Great!
If your gonna do that just kill me
Look up prechordial stress syndrome, learned the name a couple years and couldn’t believe it was a thing
I’m more like finally
I get that in my lung sometimes, I remember when little 9 year old me thought my rib had splintered a bit and was poking my lung.
I'm 16 and THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS. Every time I'm ready to bolt to my parents and just be like "I'M FUCKING DYING"
I thought this was just me dying-?
doctor: "you're heart is in real bad shape, why did you wait so long to get checked?"
me: "well a bunch of people on reddit liked this meme so I thought we was chill, ngl"
Go see a doctor, y’all
at least i am not the only one!
Why? Why not??
wait so i wasn’t the only one who thought i had a taco heart???
Why not kill me?
I get this
Gas go burrr
"stop teasing and kill me already you coward"
Don't you hate it, when it doesn't actually kill you? Like WHY? Just WHY
Not a pinch it's like a poking sensation
Pretty sure that's a rib movement
It just happened to me a couple minutes ago
Let's just say our heart just needs a second of appreciation for what It does....we often forget it's value and toss it to around for others to play with 🧘♀️ #heartrights
it's what it feels like when your heart skips a beat - it literally skips a beat and this isn't even rare but usually it happens in shock moments.
For example when you can't feel your phone in your pockets right away or your friend asks you how much you've learned for the exam but you didn't even know there was an exam today
Holy crap. This picture looks creepier now that I know that there's another angle to it.
Anyone else's heart felt weird after reading this? Asking for a friend
Huh. I thought I was the only one who felt this shit
You're not alone, child
Yah why, why the hell didn't u do it
Yea me too its so fucking annoying.
Me too man, me too...
Go see a doctor, for real...
Is this the anonymous doctors thread?
