Jo-6-pak

Is that a 535 virago?

darkwithoutnight

On the money!💰 It's a '95!

Jo-6-pak

One of my old friends first bike was a 535. Haven’t seen one in years. Ride often, ride far, ride safe😎

darkwithoutnight

Thank you!!! The cutest old man sold it to me and the only reason he can't ride anymore is chemo 😭 he said he was so happy to see it as my first bike. I have so much to learn! ❣️

coded62

That was my first bike too! It had like 38k miles on it; the old guy that owned it prior took really good care of it. I still have it actually, but it’s relegated to under a tarp on the deck. I then owned a ninja after that, but I rode it again like I would that ninja; don’t be afraid to wring its little heart out. Also, when I first got it I was afraid to ride on the road, so I rode it around and around my parents house on the grass and hills. Like a suburban rancher style house not some big ole field lol.

No_Crazy_4273

Congratulations man! My first was 86 virago.

shanekio

Great choice! My first bike was a Virago. Loved it!

darkwithoutnight

Thank you!! I saw you post your gold wing yesterday! That shot is beautiful!!!

shanekio

Thanks! There was a camera guy set up at just the right spot and it was probably the best twenty bucks I’ve ever spent! Edit: meant to tell you that red is by far the best color for a motorcycle lol.

Forsaken-Thought

The course will save your life.

darkwithoutnight

I can't wait for it!!!

sasqwatsch

Great choice !!

godspeed1083

Nice, man, I just passed my course last week! I have your little brother, an 05 250. Nimble, fun, and looks like more than it is!

Erickdeviking

Hehe awesome. Was my first bike too. Same colour and all. Great forgiving bike. Even rode it 2 up (short trips) with my wife on the back. Kept it as a backup bike after i bought my harleys. Glad i did cause my wifes yamaha died shortly after buying my harley. So she road that bike around instead. Only sold it last month so i get some cash to buy a harley for my wife aswell. Enjoy that bike man.

Biker93

Awesome, congrats. My suggestion, don’t even sit on it until you take the course.

darkwithoutnight

Too late 🤠

Biker93

Ha! Seriously though, you learn a lot on the course. I took it twice. I suggest you do not ride that motorcycle until you’ve taken the course. That and a couple bucks will get you a cup of coffee. Take it for what it’s worth. I’ve been on a motorcycle for almost 30 years. Do not ride that motorcycle until you’ve taken the course.

Nice! Congrats

lasergia

I started on a Virago too (mine was 125cc), she still has a special place in my heart, imho best beginners bike if you’re into cruisers and not really tall or big like myself. Ride safe but most of all enjoy yourself! Edit: typo.

Richtons

Nice mannn! It's so beautiful

darkwithoutnight

Thank you!!!

MrPetre

Congratulations!! Just passed mine too! Your bike is really similar to mine, I have a red 2008 Yamaha V-Star 650cc. Saw in the comments yours is a virago, that's the one I learned on too. Great pick, hope you enjoy many happy miles :D

Khaymanw1

Hello gorgeous! (To the bike) 😁

Eudu

Sick handlebars.

littlejob

Good old Michigan roads. Careful for those tar strips used to patch road work. They become awfully slippery when it’s over 80 degrees. Never wiped, but have slid a few times mid turn…

darkwithoutnight

Thank you for the heads up!! Seriously!

TN522

Congrats! Ride safe, keep your head on a swivel and gear up properly!

thfgclw

I just got a 2014 V-Star 250 last year as my first bike and I've been loving it. Looks like it's the same exact color as this one you've got here. Looks great!

DeePigeonKicker

Damn good looking bike. 🥵

Theanarchist1

Nice! I have an ‘07 Virago!

alexrunvill

Nice bike

DiamondFcknHands

Hello first bike, you're beautiful!!

MacZero84

Hello

MotoHULK

Congrats!

darkwithoutnight

Thank you so much!!

Clayspinner

It’s a good first bike. You’ll enjoy learning how to ride on it. The rear brake in my opinion easily locks up so go practice your power slide in your bmx. However that also teaches you to look ahead and be a better driver. Enjoy my man !

msm187

I'd suggest you start watching DanDanTheFireman on youtube. I got my first bike a couple months ago and DDTF really helped reinforce the mindset a rider should have and gave me the confidence to leave the parking lot.

This was just after purchasing it. She's in my garage now.

I live on a busy country road with a long drive way. No street parking here (:

mellonfrodo

Hello

darkwithoutnight

Lol hi!

badadvice4all

Does the safety course get you licensed too, or do you need to do that separate?

darkwithoutnight

I'm in Michigan. To my understanding, the safety and endorsement are two separate "classes". I put quotes around it bc one is a test. You need to have your own bike for the endorsement, like you would a car for your license. That's why I've been keeping my eyes out for a bike, and jumped on this! I want it on my license ASAP!

Wang_Mandingo

Watch ALL the Jerry Palladino videos you can on the Tubes. So much valuable knowledge he gives away. It's obviously not as good as practical knowledge, but there is so much to learn from him.

darkwithoutnight

Thank you! I'll take all the advice I can get, and I'll watch all his videos! When I got chickens, I watched over 10 hours of YouTube so I knew what to expect. So with a cycle, I'll watch more!

Wang_Mandingo

I think you'll really enjoy them. Happy riding!

ThirdRockFromSol

That's a beauty. Congratulations!
