I remember thinking all the time “That’s ten cents a minute.” I would mentally count the dimes as the clocked ticked by in my mind numbing menial job. Whatever is was. Lol.
I'm a bad babysitter.
Boyfriend in the shower!
I made this in 1975 and then it seemed to stagnate over the years.
I was never happy with this lol
My first real job was at a movie theater in 2002, making 5.15 an hour at 25 hours per week, bi weekly pay. I was grateful for what I had, but 6 bucks would have really helped immensely.
I remember a few kids in high school somehow scoring $12/hr jobs when minimum was $5.15. I think I got $6.50 at my retail job and was so envious of them.
After taxes a full 40 hour week paycheck was barely over $200.
Same. I remember one check being 325 dollars and I thought i was so rich lol.
Lol my first job was at a steakhouse, taking orders. Was 1984, paid 3.35/hour.
I took my first job bussing tables at 4.75 an hour.
You made 6? I started at 5 an hour. :\\
I made like 3-something an hour at my first job, bagging groceries in '89.
My first job in the early 90s paid me $4.80 an hour. 55cents more than the baggers got paid. Took me a couple years to work up to $6 an hour.
My first job I was paid $6 an hour pushing carts at a grocery store in 2004. Ahhh the good ol days
$6 an hour in 2004? In USA? I started my current job in 1989 for $6 an hour.
Sounds about right. I also worked at a grocery store for that amount in 2004.
Back when I started, i thought I was being totally screwed. The "older" people I was working with back then were making $21 plus per hr.
I never had a job before 2018, wish I knew what the work climate was when I was a lad
I remember when 20 oz sodas were a nice even dollar. Inflation you crazy
First job was 6.50 at a local amusement park my sophomore-junior year summer. Paychecks were about $50 and I thought I was a baller.
I made $4.10 an hour at Hardee's in 1993.
