Why isn’t spinach on this list 😡😡

Da_Verminator

Because spinach is a vegetable

thebananaperson1

But the rest are vegetables too 😭 I see you’re prejudiced against spinach, huh? 🤨😡

Da_Verminator

No, it's because fruits grow from flowers and have seeds in them. All of these "vegetables" grow from flowers. A vegetable is classified as an edible root, stalk/stem, or leaf. Spinach is a leaf. That also makes Rhubarb a vegetable because it's a stalk of a plant.

Oh dang My whole life is a lie 💀

Backwoods-Babe

a pea is a vegetable

Blurred_reality

The pod it comes from is classified as a fruit though.

Da_Verminator

Peas are the seeds inside the pods. And the pods grow from flowers, so they're fruit

Blurred_reality

Not according to Wikipedia and it's sources. The pods are classified as fruit but the pea itself is a vegetable. "The pea is most commonly the small spherical seed or the seed-pod of the pod fruit Pisum sativum." "A pea is a most commonly green, occasionally golden yellow,[5] or infrequently purple[6] pod-shaped vegetable, widely grown as a cool-season vegetable crop. " ~ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pea

Da_Verminator
