Noble Globetrotter 2 reported to have suffered damage and taken on water during Hurrcaine Ida

Submechanophobia and Claustrophobia in one image. That's a mega nope from me.
Strangley, even though I'm not keen on small spaces, being onboard ships was actually pretty comforting even though the spaces were small. I guess it's the fact you're surrounded by an endless (and sometimes raging) sea and the narrow spaces and winding corridors felt safe, especially if you had been through rough weather on that vessel before. A good hull will take bad weather well.
> surrounded by an endless (and sometimes raging) sea
I think part of it comes from the fact that the accommodation is actually designed to be comfortable (to an extent). As a sailor myself I've learned that a ship is next to unsinkable under normal conditions. Unless you get a massive breach, by collision or otherwise, the ship should in theory be completely watertight as long as it stays upright. We've only had one leak (design flaw, we were working on a solution) due to water literally smashing against a bulwark in severe weather, but still it wasn't a big issue because of how small it was.
Of course with this ship, after seeing the footage, it's a bit of a different story. Water literally squirting past the watertight seals, equipment being thrown everywhere, even the lifeboats broken. Not yreally our every day weather. I bet the pumps were running on full capacity to keep the water out.
How do you have this fear and sign up for that job? You sus af
“To conquer fear, you must become fear.”
OP actually sabotaged the vessel for their own nefarious purposes.
I remember the old oil rig from the james cameron movie where an insane dude is trying to end underwater civilization.
I forgot the name though
To me it looks comfy, i would love to swim or dive there.
It’s well lit so it doesn’t seem scary.
Looks like the entrance to the underwater level
Better stock up on things before entering
And print out the walkthrough guide, or you're never going to get the water level rise/fall order right to get to the last key.
Fuck that key. I feel frustrated just thinking about it.
Reminds me of the game Bioshock for some reason.
That looks like the inside of the Aurora in Subnautica
That's exactly what I was thinking
Holy shit. That all reads like pages from the script of *The Abyss*
My favorite scene from one of my least favorite Alien movies.
So Covenant and Prometheus are the remaining two.
Sham-wow to the rescue
Sometimes, somehow, something makes me laugh out loud. Thanks
Happy to be of service
Reminds me of that scene in titanic
You mean that one part where the boat sinks?
wow spoiler alert
I scrolled to find this comment!
“Welcome aboard captain, all systems online.”
I would be more freaked out about getting shocked with electricity. Wired lights underwater freak me out.
Instantly think of deep blue sea! 🦈
BF4 vibes. That level was so janky
What's a Noble Globetrotter 2?
Noble is the company. Globetrotter 2 is the name of the ship. It is a deep sea drill ship for tapping oil.
This guy gulfs
Is Emma Emmerich on the other side?
Obligatory "Colonel! I've got Emma Emmerich here... we've managed to avoid drowning!"
Oh god, it reminds me of that scene from Titanic when the water is rising up, but Jack and Rose have to dive in for... Whatever reason. I already forgot.
It'll it was based on survival, I don't think I can go in there.
Looks like a nightmare
Look for the crew passage!
Still cleaner than the nyc subway
Here's my little fun thing about the Noble company. Every rig and ship they own has a name that starts with Noble. Some are named like the Noble Globetrotter II. Some are named after people, like the [Noble Tommy Craighead](https://www.subsea.org/noble-tommy-craighead-rig-owned-by-noble-drilling/).
And then there's my favorite. The [Noble Dick Favor](https://www.subsea.org/noble-dick-favor-rig-owned-by-noble-drilling/).
The Noble Dick Favor Drilling Rig - holy shit
Stairway to hell
Welcome aboard captain. Some systems require assistance.
Looks like crysis
I remember this from Tomb Raider II
Go get emma
Getting Sons of Liberty vibes here.
I wanna scuba in it.
Titan from Destiny 2
I hope pavel is ok
Metal Gear Solid 2
How can you tell?
Looks like the scene from titanic!
This post was a lot less scary when I still thought the title said “Nobbler Globbertrotter 2”
[Reminds me of this](https://youtu.be/UHXzqXSl5zA)
Deep blue sea
Major Fallout 3 vibes. The Rivet City bow really had me on edge
We've managed to avoid drowning!
My knowledge of boats is limited, but the wet is supposed to be on the outside right?
Omg they stole irl submarines from cyclops totally not other way around
Looks like shes taken on a bit of water captain....It actually looks like the stairway to a watery grave, submechophobia style! yep.
I wonder if the singing accommodation doors actually kept water out... I still hear that circus toon in my head sometimes lol.
I also wonder how the MWD and Data Eng cabins look, they're behind the camera in the original video of the Drillfloor lol, just stacked up.
Got to say though the chef on there did amazing puddings, and fizzy pop on demand... no having to go to the bond haha.
BF4 campaign be like
This one is actually pretty cool, this one doesn’t scare me
