These are so dope!

Jersey_Gal47c

Thank you! I had a lot of fun figuring out this technique.

ThatChindian

It looks like foil but I’m not sure what to do with foil for it. Would you mind elaborating or pointing me to a video I’m not sure what the technique is called.

Jersey_Gal47c

They are just “tall deep scrunches” on a rack, dye over ice.

ThatChindian

Oh interesting good to know :) nice work I like them

JonahTrill

4 is really wild. Are these all ice dyed?

Jersey_Gal47c

I did a bunch of [these](https://imgur.com/a/hH1M2Li) on an incline dye over ice and loved the results

JonahTrill

Wow those are awesome, do you have a shop?

Jersey_Gal47c

Thank you! I wholesale a bunch and resale on my insta @watercolordyes 🙂

Jersey_Gal47c

Yes! All ice dyed and dye over the ice.

hisshissgrr

How much ice and how much dye did you use? I'm trying to get my combo right and having a hard time figuring out the right amount of each

Jersey_Gal47c

I could tell you everything I do step by step and honestly…..it just takes some practice! I started learning this “tall deep scrunch” with foil balls and different sized whiffle balls…getting the feel for moment, dye placement, ice and racked vs muck. To answer your question best I can, I use 5-7 pounds of ice (different types of ice matter too!) on these. They are racked, and really damp—hand wrung from the soda ash bucket. I think I’m a little heavy handed when I do dye over ice. [This ](https://imgur.com/a/sZxbuQi) is what the first shirt looked like under ice. I hope that helps! My advice: practice and try something new/different every attempt.

Thank you for sharing everything, this is so nice of you. I think the wet fabric really adds to the water colour effect very nicely

hisshissgrr

I think I'm being too stingy with my ice, based on what you've said here! Thank you for the tips, excited to try again!,

So nice!!

Pleasant_Intentions

Wow I absolutely love 6!! They are all beautiful though😍

kushhh420

May I ask what that green/blue color is on number 6? It’s gorgeous!

Jersey_Gal47c

You sure can! It’s kingfisher blue from Dharma. Kingfisher, soft orange and dances with raisins!

kushhh420

Thank you so much! Fantastic work also! Definitely got a dope style to your dyes!

Jersey_Gal47c

My pleasure! I’m always happy to answer questions best I can. Thank you! It’s a great creative outlet for me and has helped keep my sanity the past 1.5 years with quarantine and little kids 🥴

canariesinthemines

These are perfect! Is that shiitake on 3 and 5?

Jersey_Gal47c

Thank you! Shiitake on number 5, camel on number 3!

canariesinthemines

Oh nice! Definitely gonna try this method with both of those soon. Thanks!!

thisisDreWeL

Oo wow, camel split into those green tones on #3? Also what colors did you use on #7? These all look amazing.

lovemaderare

Love!!
