I feel awful for anyone who's working on that ship. The stress, the fumes, what they're going to hear from their employer in the aftermath. I hope I'm wrong, that things turn out okay.
What is going to happen to the shipments? Is there insurance for it?
Not to mention the poison in the ocean.
The local mission to seafarers is a great place to help out. While seafarer missions are nominally Christian in practice they are the place these sailors can change money at a fair rate and access cheap long distance sim cards and internet connections.
If you want to ensure your Christmas giving will put a smile on someone's face reach out and fill a gift box for a sailor. Touque, socks, novel, gum, and smokes plus some chocolate are always welcome.
I used to sail all over the world and come Christmas if a mission had been down and delivered some packages it was amazing.
Also shout out to my mom who would airmail Christmas baking to my ship every year at a godawful expenses.
There’s also some 10m waves forecast for this incoming storm, 60kn winds…
Shit storms coming, we're about to sail into a shit typhoon. Better hall in the jib before it gets covered in shit
ugggggggghhhh everything we do is a shit show.
