Visual snow and dizziness / balance issues
By - DescriptionFancy1387
I'm in team daily dizziness (probably not the Missio kind, even though it's a nice tune), unfortunately.
I can't really pin down what causes it.
I am suspecting caffeine to some extent; I've been on and off it in intervals, but I haven't really put any serious thought into whether or not it affects the dizziness/disorientation due to lower intake. I've come to understand that the effects of caffeine dissipate fast (within days), and I've been off it many weeks at times.
I'll stay away from it for a while and see if anything tangible happens, can't hurt I guess.
Alright, thanks for the tip!
I have this only in groceries stores it feels like gravity is pulling me down and I get the feeling I’m on a boat especially in an isle , it’s so weird !!! I can’t stand it , it’s been a two years already .
Thought it was just me! My balance feels so odd sometimes, If I walk around a corner it feels like I’m tipping over to the side sometimes that kind of thing it’s weird
Yes same for me. It's like walking on a boat, and personally in the morning is worse.
Holy shit yeah, sometimes when i’m in certain places like a supermarket it feels like I’m on a ship and my balance is all over the place
Yeah the same. Places like supermarket or opened spaces are terrible. The funny thing is.. they call it Visual Snow.. but the snow symptom is nothing respect this.
Another thing is that I have issues on focusing with eyes.. maybe it is related whit this sensation of balance off.
Do you feel pressure on your forehead too?
Nope, but in the neck yes
Yup. For whatever reason, it’s very common for those with vertigo to also have visual snow. Certainly the case for me.
Sometimes I can’t walk in a straight line and it’s kind of disorienting. Sometimes moving my head up or down will trigger dizziness. Sometimes when I’m lying down and not even moving I get dizzy. It sucks.
Did a nystagmus test to see if the vertigo was central or peripheral, turns out it’s central and was sent to a neurologist but she can’t figure out anything wrong. Next step would be take different meds. I already tried venlafaxine last summer and that destroyed me, so I’m hesitant to take anything more. Venlafaxine is an antidepressant and for some reason works for vertigo in some people. Other meds include anti seizure and migraine.
Hey, try looking into POTS syndrome
Thanks for checking in! I’ve already worn a heart monitor for 24hrs to measure blood pressure/heart rate and everything came back normal. However, I was asymptomatic during that time so I do wonder if there’s more merit to it. My bp has gotten as low as 90/63 when sitting when I was feeling garbage-y so who knows!
Yup.I have them.
Ok, do you agree that it is the worst symptom to deal with it? Do you have issues with jaw or to gut too?
I agree that VS is pure hell, and yeah, I tend to have jaw locks, they really suck.
yes yes and yes :(
I had them at the start when my VSS symptoms first hit and were at their worst for sure. It’s not too bad anymore
Any tips? Ahah
Unfortunately not any tips that will work right away :/ I’ve had it for 2 years now and it recently just started to get better . The dizziness went away in about 3 months so there’s that. Just be patient and if you drink anything that has caffeine just stop. When I stopped drinking caffeine daily is saw a significant improvement. Good luck 👍🏼
I drink 4 coffees a day ahah. I will try to stop, tx.
Oh fuck lol yeah maybe just cut down a little 😅
Yeah I drink it for two reasons: because I feel tired and because I like the taste 😛
I have these
Maybe all of this is related to POTS? I have no idea
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking tbh
Mine all started after my auto immune condition kicked in almost 3 years ago. I have been constantly lightheaded and had bouts of vertigo every few months that last a week or so. It was way worse when i first got hit. I believe it's all in my neck. I feel like my neck is causing the lightheadedness along with the visual snow.
Hey stop spaming with Pots! Not everyone got the same! VS affects the ear wich controls balance so relax with your spam.
Theres a lot of possible causes!
Drs thought this as well but I have had 2 tilt table test as well as other test confirming I do not have pots. Thanks for the info though.
I have this big time. It started with imbalance amd dizziness and it fixed itself and then visual snow i think came. After a flight the other day i now feel dizzy all the time again and have developed motion sickness. I had covid in Jan and think this is all related
